SOURCE: my service engine light came on on my 2003 mini

If the light was flashing when it came on, then it means your engine is misfiring.

A solid light can mean anything from a loose/faulty gas cap to a transmission issue.

This light comes on when the computer detects a fault of some sort in its diagnostic tests. If it keeps detecting this issue, the light will remain on. If the light turns off, then it has detected that the issue may no longer be present.

In order to find out what the exact reason was for your light, You need to have your car computer scanned to retrieve the code that the computer would have stored when the light triggered. Most garages will do this free of charge. The code will tell you what may have caused the light to initially turn on.

SOURCE: I have a 2002 mini

This could be for several reasons. I believe that the mini cooper uses 2 02 sensors, so it's possible that you have a faulty second sensor.
Or you could have a broken or missing vacuum line or intake manifold leak.
The other possible causes are a bad engine temp sensor, when the temp sensor is malfunctioning the computer may increase or degrease the fuel supply, If you getting a decreased fuel supply on a cold engine then you would have a lean exhaust.I would suggest starting with the easy stuff first, you can use a can of carb cleaner to spray around the intake and on vacuum hoses to seem if the engine picks up and idle or decreases in idle. This will tell you if you have a vacuum leak on a hose of manifold.
IF you can find a leak then I would suggest locating the other 02 sensor and use a simulator on it also.
And lastly if this didn't fix it then a test of the coolant temp sensor and the engine temp sensor would be in order.

SOURCE: error code on 2008 mini cooper s of CCID 031 what

Hi. Error CCID 031 means increased emissions. You need to refer to yuor card dealer and have this ting replace. DTML - It is a little pump/sensor that measures fuel vapor emissions from fuel system. If your gas cap seal is faulty or you have any fuel system pressure leak this pump runs to maintain pressure in the system. Normally it is not supposed to run. When it runs it sets of the Check Engine light.

My Mini Cooper's engine light is coming on saying engine deterioration in exhaust emission values. How can I fix this and will it be expensive? thank you

You need to bring this to a pro, and make sure it's someone very familiar with Minis. possibly a bad converter, but could be a sensor or injection problem that is sending too much fuel down the line, making your post cat o2 sensor see trouble. Get after it quickly, and maybe you can save your quite expensive catalytis converter.
