Sometimes it's not the other door window switches that are to be the fault, but look at the drivers window switches that the driver can him self control all windows with this switch unit.

SOURCE: Drivers door power window control stopped

Since it is only happening on the drivers side door to multiple switches and lights on that door only, I think the problem is the wiring harness as it enters the drivers door by the door hinges.

SOURCE: Doors wont lock. Windows

Window fuse's and relay's may be up under driver or passenger side dash or behind glove box, under the hood and even under the seats, and finally on the ends of the dash. All passenger power windows and locks are controlled thru and get power from the master control switch on the drivers door. Could be a broken wire in the rubber boot going from the door to the body. You will have to eliminate each till you find the culprit. Check that all switches return to neutral when released. It could also be the body control module.

SOURCE: power door locks don't work; interior lights

these trucks have a generic body control module in the left kickpanel. just remove the plastic trim from the drivers floor molding to access the module. inspect the wire for green dust or gel. if there is signs of this then you have a corrosion problem. disconnect you battery and then try cleaning the corrosion all off using contact cleaner and penetrating oil. once the corrosion is gone then reconnect everything and try to see if it works. If not then it is possible that the module is damaged. you will need a new one.

SOURCE: only the driver side window works the passager door window ad both real windows don't work what is the problem?

If the lock out switch is not on, I would check for power and ground at the driver's master switch.

Installing window

Any window,window regulator,window motor,etc
can only be accessed by removing the inner door panel

To do that You Tube Video may help you

Once in the doors interior you may have to drill out
rivets,remove nuts,move wiring & such

You almost always will get cut on the sharp door edges
so be careful & wear long sleeves, gloves don't fit well
in there but you can try

You will sometimes need pop rivit tool to replace a motor
or switch to new regulator,or you may be dealing with a
cable system

Power Windows don't operate on 1987 toyota Camry

I had the same problem with my 2001 Nissan Altima. I when to Spalding Auto Parts - Home of Quality New and Used Partswww.spaldings.com/ in Spokane, Washington 509-924-3300 and got the switches for the drivers door. Problem was solved. They do ship parts nation wide and warranty there used parts.

2005 pacifica rear windows dont work

Two things are the most likely culprits here: 1) the window motor/regulators in the doors are busted/done/gave up the ghoat, or 2) the actual switch for the windows need to be replaced. If the don't go up or down using the master window switch on the driver's door AND using the switch on the actual doors themselves, I'd lean toward suggestion #1. If it will work with one of the switches but not the other, I'd lean toward option #2.
There is a possibility it could be another issue, but, the most common I've seen would be #1.

I have a 2004 dodge ram 2500, the passenger window switches don't work

Not uncommon, the master window switch on the driver's door goes wonky. Mine had same problem (2003 1500 4.7L long cab) and simply replacing the master switch fixed both bad passenger switch intermittent problems. Easy swap, cheap at the dealer.

The window switch on the drivers door to raise and lower the rear passenger is not working. I was able to lower the window but now it is stuck in the down position. Is there a way to override and roll up...

  • So if I understand you correct the drivers door switch is not working for the rear window.
  • Try using the the switch on the rear door for that window then.
  • The master switch is great to work all windows but the rear window switch should still work as well even if the master switch on the drivers door fails.
  • Now if both switches should don't work then it may not be a switch failure at all. this could be a wiring issue or a burnt window motor/regulator.
  • In this case you will nee some help as you are going to "help" the regulator out. Once you get it up I advise to let it be until repaired. You don't want to stress the track up to much before the whole assembly is replaced (should this be the problem).
  • So if both switches don't respond the your going to grab the window (one hand on each side of the window) as if your palms are touching and pull up at the same time the switched is being pushed up.
  • It may take a bit to get it but it will be fine.
  • If the window is down in the door (in the way down position) then get your fingers in there and grab the window and slowly pull up on it. Make sure the switch is being pushed to roll the window up at the same time.
  • Once you get it up a bit then take it the rest of the way as explained above.
  • I have had to do this on a few occasions and it works fine.

  • Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa.

Have you tried replacing the master window switch? Just because the other windows work doesnt mean that switch for that window is good.

The main switch is controled by the drivers door main unit.....i had to use a forward force on my windows switch for it to work....so replaced the whole unit, you could find those on ebay cheap if local auto parts is expensive

it sounds by the motor clicking that your power window motor is shot.....If you jump 12 volts to the terminals on the motor does it work?.................if it does you can at least get it up.......if you put the power to it and it goes down reverse the wires on the terminals and it will go up.But it sounds to me like you need a new one.
