SOURCE: Interior lights won't turn on when door opens

Do you have electric locks in the vehicle? One test to do is turn on the car's headlights and open the door. You should hear a chime when you open the driver door. One other thing is to unlock the doors with the remote if you have a remote open the driver door, get in the car but don't put the key in the ignition. The doors might relock after 15-20 seconds. This proves that the door signal open is not being processed. Just tell me what model VW and what year and if you have electric locks and I'll help you.

you have a bad drivers door latch, the micro switch inside is not telling the computer that the latch has been opened which would normally mean the door is open.

I am a master ford tech and see this concern weekly ! more often then not its a dirty door ajar switch which is located in the latch in the door. get yourself a can of brake cleaner with a straw and a can of wd-40 from a parts store and install the straw in the brake clean now spray the latch liberally then close and open the door six to eight times, next spray the latch with the wd-40 liberally then close and open the door six to eight times, this more often then not will fix the issue. if not you may have a bad switch or a wire broken where the wires past between the body and the door (near the hinges) hope this helps

How do I open the fuse box on a 2012 buick verano

Why? 2012 should still have warranty. Talk to your dealer! If there is a fuse problem, service needs and probably would like to help out as well as understand what caused the problem.

HOW TO REMOVE DOOR TRIM PANEL ON 2012 BUICK VERANO

Most door panels are held to the door with a large 'nail'. You need to get a wide flat blade between the door & panel and gently pry until it pops a nail out. You need to work your way around the bottom and up the sides.
Don't forget to remove the armrest (should be some screw covers, then the screws themselves.
