Hello, Aster -

I assume you are in the USA.

Your local public library system probably subscribes to one or more automotive repair manual databases, which would include information (with drawings and diagrams) on repair of your Dodge Grand Caravan. The repair manual information for your vehicle will probably have the information and illustration/s you need

If you are not familiar with the auto repair databases, but do have a valid library borrower card, you can find the phone number for the main / headquarters public library system, call the library, ask to be connected to the reference / information desk, and ask one of the librarians to talk you through how log in and access the database where you can see and download (PDF format) the relevant pages for your vehicle.

Note: The headquarters library in your public library system may be the only one open on a Sunday.

If you do not have a valid library borrower card, you will need to visit your local public library and apply for one. You will need an official photo ID (driver's license and perhaps some other form of ID which verifies your residential address - electric bill, cable / dish TV services bill, etc.) to complete your borrower application.

While you are at the local public library, ask one of the reference / information librarians to pace you through access to the auto repair database/s. You can then find the right information and either print the pages you need at the library (may be a printing charge) or send them as an attachment to your email address, so that you can print the pages at home.

Note: If you do not know how to find the phone number for the main public library or do not know where the public library nearest you is, you can conduct a search using your favorite search engine (Google, Bing, Yahoo Search, etc.), using this search strategy, with quotation marks as shown:
"Your City Name, State" "public library"
Example: "Upper Sandusky, Ohio" "public library"

Your public library = Your taxpayer dollars at work!

SOURCE: 2001 Grand Caravan - Radiator Fan Control Circuit Problem

The relay that is located right usually in the middle of the fans is stuck open.Take that off and take it to the nearest parts store and they should have it in stock. Its kind of a common problem. That relay is designed to finish cooling off the car before they shut off and they'll run with the keys out.If the relay is bad they'll keep on running till the battery is dead..

2003 grand caravan code p1491

As a Dodge code it refers to..
P1491 Secondary Switch Solenoid Circuit Malfunction.
"P1491 is for the cooling fan relay circuit. There is a seperate fan for the a/c condensor on your truck. When this code sets it is because the fuse is blown. Its fuse 39 in the box under the hood. The cause of this fuse blowing is a bad fan motor."

Aside from getting into an accident and having your wiring harness severely damaged, the other likely suspect is your PCM. These codes are not related to each other and indicate a much larger problem.

My 2002 jeep grand cherokee laredo wull not start shutdown 2 days ago checked all fuses but the ecu fuses don't know how to find them

According with your other quesions, the DTC P1491 code is actually radiator fan control relay circuit.
Soft reset if the battery disconnect would have erased the code; the first thing I would replace for that code (fan relay).
Additionally, its possible thta your THEFT system is activated, check owners manual to disarm. Check details here:
- Grand Cherokee fuses

- Diagnostic Trouble Codes

Hope this helps.

P1491 diagnostics code for 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Trouble Code: P1491 You PCM does not sense current to radiator fan when it turns it on. Is the fan coming on or not? Usually not when you have this code. Problem can be with the fuse, relay, wiring or fan itself. First check the fuse. If good, next try swapping the relay with another one in the engine compartment relay box, such as the horn relay.
Let the car warm up and see if the fan will come on. If yes, get a new relay. If not, either use a test light to see if there is voltage at the fan connector when the engine is on and hot, or else test the fan motor by hotwiring it to the battery. If none of this works, please get back to me for how to troubleshoot the wiring.

Radiator Fan Control Relay Circuit Malfunction
Possible Causes:

Radiator fan control relay circuit is open or shorted to ground Radiator fan control relay circuit is open (test power to IGN) Radiator fan control relay is damaged or has failed PCM has failed

I took my 99 dodge grand caravan to advanced auto and got a computer readout of p1491 as the error code. is this important and is this expensive?

P1491 is Radiator Fan Control Relay Circuit. MEANING: An open or shorted condition detected in the low speed radiator fan control circuit.
Some questions for you:
1. Is your Caravan overheating?
2. Is your Caravan water temperature spiking going past the midway point on the Temp Gauge before the radiator is engaged?
3. Is your Rad Fan coming-on and then turning off and back-on in a very short period of time (like under a minute?
If all of these are "No" then do not worry about it.
