SOURCE: crank no start ,got fuel got spark, when trying to

You pinched the fuel line????
If you crank for too long to start the car, the engine will "flood", this is why the plug was wet. It had too much gas and wouldn't start.
Pull out ALL plugs and dry them off.
Install them.
HOLD your gas pedal to the floor and crank.
This will stop gas from entering the engine.
you need to get that extra gas out beofre it will start.
If you have so much gas in there you can do damage to your engine!!
Now after a few crnaking attempts with your foot to the floor, take your foot of the gas pedal and try to start it again.
But remember if it doesn't start in 3 tries, you need to do the pedal to the floor once or twice to remove the excess gas.
When you crank the car to start it sprays gas into the engine, even if it won't start. So it very easy to "flood" the engine, and then you'll have a hard time to get it going!

SOURCE: Ran last year, won't start this year. Changed

It might have tipped over on its side. Look at the air filter, if you see oil or gas on the filter then you might have to remove and clean the carburetor. I would start by cleaning/replacing the air filter and trying it again. If its getting fuel and the spark plug works then the only other side of the fire triangle is air.

Why won't my car start? It was running last night.

Try start the car again when it is completely dry, if it starts the rain may be short circuiting something on the loom in the engine bay.

If it still wont start,

will it turn over? (car tries to start)
- If it wont turn over the battery would be dead

- If it turns over but wont burst into life then we can go from there ^_^

Enige cranck but will not start

So after all that time and money, do you see fuel spray from the injectors when you crank the engine ?
If you have spark at the plugs and fuel spray, the gas may have water in it.

1997 mazda 626 won't start.

Are the plugs wet with fuel?
Check for spark. No spark? it may be the ignition module.

Plugs dry and spark present? No fuel?Spray a little starting fluid and see if it will run on that.
Then check pump fuses and for fuel pump noise.

Won't-start symptoms

Your car may not start for a number of reasons. The following list outlines the most common circumstances and tells you what action you can take to try to remedy each situation:

  • The car is silent when you turn the key in the ignition. Check the battery terminal cable connections If they look very corroded, force the point of a screwdriver (with an insulated or wooden handle) between the connector and the terminal post and twist it to lodge it firmly. Then try to start the engine. If it starts, you need to clean or replace your cables.
  • The car makes a clicking noise but won't start. This sound usually means a dead battery. If not, check the wiring to and from the starter for a loose connection.
  • The car cranks over but won't start. Check the fuel supply to your engine. If that's okay, check whether the electrical spark is getting to your spark plugs.
The engine starts but dies. If your car has a carburetor, check your carburetor adjustment and your choke to see whether the choke is first closing and then opening. If you have fuel injection

Its not the oil, increasing temperature will thin out the oil. If it cranks easily but won't start it could be the spark plugs or the spark plug wires. When they heat up, especially if they are old, they won't perform well. Pull off one of the wires and hold it close to the plug, try to crank the engine and look for a spark. If it sparks them try removing a plug and check to see if it looks wet. If its bone dry it might not be getting fuel.

Vehicle won't start....strong battery...gas tank 3/4 full...turns over but will not catch....HELP

Need to check if you have spark. Remove one spark plug after cranking to see if it is dry or wet. If it is dry then there is no fuel. Problem is with the fuel pump relay. If it is wet then there is not spark or weak. To confirm, have the spark plug holding against the engine chasis to have ground then have a helper to start the engine, if there is no spark, then need to check the coil. The engine is only igniting when it has spark and fuel. Good Luck.

Probably your spark plug get wet (water get into your spark plug), so it doesn't work quite well to give high voltage spark to burn fuel.
Clean your spark plug by removing spark plugs of 4 cylinders and clean, start engine to blow out the residue water in spark plug socket. And install spark plug into 4 cylinders
