Replacing freeze plugs is easy. Getting access to the one leaking may not be. Freeze plugs drive into their holes and you need access to do it. There are some aftermarket freeze plugs that can be installed and expanded into place with a wrench. But you still have to get to it. Depending on where it is, it may be easy to reach, or very difficult, such as on the rear of the engine where you must either remove the engine or transmission to gain access.

SOURCE: 98 volvo s70 stalling out, then finally after a day wouldnt start

If the air pump system is setting a fault, then the check valve is probably bad. If it is not addressed, eventually exhaust gases can run back through the air hose to the air filter housing and destroy the MAF sensor, causing these types of problems.

The fuel pump also fails and is a more likely cause of the stalling, and it wont set a code.

SOURCE: i was told that my 98 s70 volvo has a emmissions

Hi I am Vortash.. it could mean that somewhere on your exhaust system there is a leak basicaly and that this leak is throwing your c02 readings out . Now it could be your Catalytic converter or it may be your o2 sensor it may even be your manifold gasket , best thing to do is a general tighten up of all clamps and , check around the maniold for signs of blowing ( black sooty deposits ) if you find them replace the manifold gasket .. check the o2 sensor and have the readings done again if they are the same then your probably looking at replacing the Cat , regards Vortash

SOURCE: radio code ( 98 Volvo S70)

Look in the manual for the code - usually someone has written it in there. If not, call the nearest Volvo dealership and give them the VIN - they can tell you what your code is. Then, with the engine off, turn the key to the "I" position (Roman numeral one) and leave it for at least 4 hours. The radio should then read "Code. and you can enter the 4 digit number! Good Luck!

SOURCE: 98 volvo S70 has it srs warning light on dashboard come on

Hi:

The SRS light is the air bag system, or supplemental restraint system. It is possible that it could just be on If you have had maintenance done on your car recently, but your airbag system is inoperative till you get the system reset.

I replace timing tensioner and now car will not start, whats wrong why will it not crank 2000 s70 volvo

Check to make sure the car is in time. I have found with my 98 Volvo V70 that if the timing is off just a couple of teeth the car will crank but not come to a full start.

I have 5 codes on my 98 s70 volvo. the codes are p0305,p0303,p0301,p0300, and p017. Needing suggestion on what I need to do in order to have this fixed. Thanks.

Try replacing the spark plugs and I HIGHLY recommend factory plugs, they run way better and last way longer. From LOTS of personal experience. Plugs are the most common cause of misfires in a Volvo
