2010 jeep liberty heat not working. I have replaced the blend door actuator, coolant level is good, and hoses to and from heater core are hot when vehicle is running and try to run heat. When changing the temperature dial from cold, the AC works, to hot it only blows warm air at best but nowhere near hot. I also noticed that the blend door only rotates from about the 9 o'clock position to about 1" o'clock, so just over 90 degrees. The actuator however spins from about the 9 o'clock position all the way to the 7 o'clock position. The blend door seems to only spin as much as the gear and stopped allows. Not sure why the actuator would spin 3x what the door spins. Any ideas would be helpful. Thanks

I have also noticed that I am getting some heat out of the passenger side. The middle vents are considerably cooler than the passenger side and the driver side is almost cold air

Try disconnecting the hoses going to the heater core at the firewall, then use a garden hose to flush out the system. Do one side first, then the other..reconnect hoses when completed..

I will try that next, thank you

Also, because you replaced the actuator, verify the connection is snug. If the gears are turning underneath, the blend door should be okay. However, if you tried turning it manually, it may be off a bit?? Usually you can buy the whole setup blend door and actuator as one piece..but I think it might just be a clogged heater core..why did you replace the actuator? Did you notice the gears were not turning?? Just curious...cheers

SOURCE: 2002 pontiac grand prix gt AC only blows hot

i had same problem 2 years ago. the actuator door tube was snapped in half and i used acquarium tubing to splice together. The tube runs along the passenger front well well inside engine and meets under the battery carriage. I could not tell anything was wrong without removing the battery to get a closer look. works like a champ now.

Also: there is also an inline venturi filter that fits in the aluminum tubing on the compressor, it may be clogged. You will have to have the freon sucked out to replace the filter. Check back with me so I can help more if this doesnt solve your problem.

2002 Jeep Liberty 3.7. Replaced radiator, all new hoses, new thermostat, flushed heater core, removed all air. Still don't have heat. Hose are red hot in engine compartment.

If both hoses that go to the firewall are hot then you should be circulating coolant through the heater core. I would look to the temperature blend door in the heater box.

No heat cold air Mercury Sable 2001 3.0

Thermostat stuck open, low coolant level, stuck blend door or bad blend door actuator, or blogged heater core. Feel both hoses to the heater core. They should both be about the same temp. If one is hot and the other is cold, you have a clogged heater core. If both are hot, then the thermostat is working and you've got a blend air door/actuator problem. Actuator failure is pretty common on these. Remove the actuator and open the door by hand. If you get heat, replace the actuator

My 2002 Jeep Liberty 3.7 don't throw me heat only cold air

There is something called a blend door in the heater box. This door is what moves to change from cold air to warm air. The part is 86 dollars online. http://www.factorychryslerparts.com/products/JEEP/LIBERTY/ACTUATOR-Blend-Door-AC-and-Heater/4341513/05066519AA.html

I have a 2002 Jeep Liberty Limited, 3.7 L motor. The heater will not blow hot air. The A/C and fan work well. When I turn the temperature dial to hot, there is only cold air coming out. Can you assist me?

Jeeps are notorious for having broken temperature control (Blend Air) doors. A malfunctioning Blend Air Door actuator probably caused it to break. The dash will have to be removed to replacethe door and the door actuator.

Engine temp is up but the heat is blowing cold. what should i check?

Check the level of the antifreeze (coolant) in your reservoir. If it is just a little low, it will not flow properly through the heater core.

If the coolant level is ok, check the temperature of the hoses going in and out of the heater core. Your Taurus is not equipped with a heater control valve, so there should be hot coolant circulating through the heater core at all times. If one hose is really hot and the other feels cool or cold, then your heater core is most likely clogged with corrosion and debris. (If this is the case, I recommend a complete cooling system flush)

If both hoses are hot, then there is a problem with the blend-air door inside the car. It could be a broken door or a malfunctioning blend-air door actuator.

Heat does not work. coolant level ok and temp is ok

Might try checking the temp blend door operation or the temp blend door actuator. If all good there perhaps the control head itself is faulty.

Follow these steps:

Check coolant level, then start engine until it is warm and the thermostat opens. You will tell when it does when the needle on your temp gauge goes cold when it reaches around 180-200* and then goes back up. Now turn on your heater full blast and go to the engine compartment. You will see a heater valve located on the passenger side, next to the washer reservoir. It is a black thing with 4 heater hoses connected to it. Feel the hoses. When everything is working correctly it should be like this:

Hose going to waterpump will be hot
Hose going to (I think the thermostat housing) will be hot
2 Hoses going to heater core (mounted behind firewall) will be hot

1. If only 1 heater core hose is hot, heater core is clogged--
UNCLOG: remove 2 hoses going to heater core when engine is cool, hook water hose end to one of the sides and flush out gunk from heater core. Reconnect hose and you should be good.

2. If neither hose core hose is hot, heater control valve is bad or vacuum is bad--
Test Vacuum: remove vacuum line from heater control valve, you should feel the vacuum **** on it when pressed to your cheek and the heater control valve actuator should move when you unhook the vacuum line. If you have a good vacuum, it's probable the valve available at autozone part # 5941 for around $21.

To get heat while you wait to replace part, unhook silver arm on heater control valve that is hooked to the plunger. This will give you heat all of the time, but it is controlled by the bottom hot/cold switch on your heater control unit so you won't get hot in the cab. It will just circulate heat through the core.
