Try disconnecting the battery cables for about 5 minuites. I don't know why you needed to recharge the battery but you might have crosses something or created a short. Disconnecting the terminals will help reset the computer as well as any tripped saftey relays or sensors. Good luck let me know how it works out.

There is an electrical problem. Get someone to scan the vehicle.
You might have to replace the alternator and the battery.

same as mine ,4.0lt mine but its for sundays only cannot afford the petrol ,anyway check the wires on the alternator ,one big one and a smaller one ,now start engine and take neg battery terminal off if it stops then alternator isnt charging ,if so fit a genuine bosch factory exchange unit .but first make sure you have power in the thick cable from the battery though ,sometimes they get a dirty connection in the power distribution box ,if in doubt connect a wire from the jump start point on the firewall to the terminal on the alternator
