It's probably not the crankshaft seal. It's probably the timing cover gasket. It's very common in these engines.

there is a diagram somewhere under the hood that gives you belt routing and where the tensioner is and which way it swings to take belt off. sometimes its a 15mm and the longer the wrench the easier it is to swing it.

I don,t know what type of auto exp. you have so I will give a very easy description of how to change this belt. It will be a little difficult without the fan removed but the special tool to remove fan is expensive and on the straight 6 it is easir to do than on the v8. It may be easier if you loosen the fan shroud by slideng up the clips on the top to the shrould I don't think you will be able to slide it all the way out but if you can it will be easier. There are 2 types of spring loaded tensioners and they both work the same. one has a 15mm head and the other has an e style head-if you don't have the e style socket try the 12 point closed end of a wrench I beleive a 12mm will work. turn head( i beleive it is to the right) on tens. pulley and slip belt of of one of the top pulleys. Pay close attention to how the belt is routed. It will only go on one way. The trick is getting new belt slipped over the fan in the correct position. I always turn the belt with the smooth side out and start by routing it around the tens. pulley first. then around the crank pulley and down around the a/c comp. up over the p/s pump. then take the other slack coming from crank pulley and route it around water pump pulley and(may or may not have idler pulley) and bring accross to alt and airpump(may or may not have belt driven airpump). On the tenw when you have it loaded you can slip a pin or bolt through the font of the tens. into the grooves in the tens.. housing to keep it from snapping back. If you are replaceing the tens. you will see where this hole is because the new tens. come loaded. You can remove the pulley by turning the bolt to the left and see where this hole is if you can't find it.

If your serpentine belt is cracked or has chunks missing, it needs replacement.
