I usually leave the trip computer on my 2012 Elantra on litres per 100 km. It resets while driving. It will go from 6lt/100 km suddenly to 12lt/100 if I am driving in traffic for instance.

It is inevitable that your fuel consumption will increase in dense driving conditions. When you stop at lights etc, it will drop to , maybe, 6 to 8 litres/100.

SOURCE: 1996 Camry 100 km stalling

You have one of two very common problems.
Number one may be a stuck open EGR valve
Number two would be a failing Idle Air Control valve (IAC).
Try this: Open the hood & locate the EGR valve, close to the firewall, behind the intake. Find & take with you a small hammer. The next time that it happens, open the hood & tap on the EGR valve. If it is sticking "open" the tapping may dislodge the carbon particles that are keeping it open. When the EGR valve is open, exhaust is getting into the intake at idle, and this will def stall out the car.
There is no repair to the IAC valve, it would need to be replaced if it is bad.
One of these two scenarios will cure your problem, I see it every day.

Rate per kilometer for a 3.5 liter Kia Sorento petrol engine 2012 model (total of 2600 km driven)

You have to give us the price of fuel and. and type of driving. Was it all hiway miles or a lot of city miles This all makes a difference. Also how many litres of fuel. You can do it yourself by dividing the liters of fuel into the kilometers and multiplying the price you paid for a liter of fuel.

How can i make my 1996 toyota camry 2.2l sei auto

8 km per litre, or 12.5 litres/100km is certainly a bit heavy for that model, but not disastrously so, as in city driving it was rated at 10 L/100 km when new by Govt agencies where I am in Aust.

So the usual suspects in an older car are

- dirty air filter
- low tire pressures
- spark plugs worn or fouled
- ignition timing incorrect
- fuel pressure too high
- fuel injectors worn
- evap canister filter blocked
- emissions system faulty (EGR valve or Vacuum Switching Valve)

How to compute kilometers per litre

You would fill up the vehicle, then divide the mileage traveled by the amount of fuel it took to fill the tank again.
So assuming you filled the tank each time, you would divide 609km by 100.4 ltr which is .1648 or 16.49 L/100km
Thats about 40 mpg.

I have a 2012 hyundai elantra and my check engine light came on after 300 km on it. "I took it to the dealership and they said the code that appears is P0741. Is that a major issue?

excessive converter slippage is seen by the vehicle's computer. This code, however, usually results in the computer disabling the converter clutch's application altogether in an attempt to protect the transmission from further damage. All of this is usually going to require replacement of the torque converter.p0741,
