SOURCE: Pontiac G6 ABS Problem

when the ABS light comes on you will not hear or feel anything cause soon as the ABS light comes on the ABS is disabled
sounds like it is weather related (rain, snow)
i would check both rear wheel speed sensor harnesses for water intrusion if you see any corrosion (green) on the terminals replace both the hub and harness
if there is no corrosion then check resistance of the sensor also check for a short to ground
if that is ok then put some dielectric lube on the wheel speed sensor terminals and clear the codes and see what happens
intermittent problems can be hard to find
hope this helps

CHECK TO MAKE SURE WITH CAR RUNNING VOLTAGE AT THE BATTERY SHOULD BE 13.5 VOLTS TO 14.5 VOLTS. USE A DIGITAL VOLT METER TO CHECK VOLTS AT BATTERY. WITH ENGINE OFF BATTERY VOLTAGE SHOULD BE 12.5 VOLTS. IF NOT ALTERNATOR NOT CHARGING BATTERY.THAT WILL MAKE ABS AND BRAKE LIGHTS COME ON AND A FAULTY BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH WILL ALSO CAUSE ABS AND BRAKE LIGHTS COME ON.IF ALL LOOKS GOOD.HAVE THE ABS BRAKES SCANNED.IN THIS CASE YOU ARE HAVING BRAKE FAILURE.BECAUSE WHEN BRAKE LIGHT COMES ON THATS WARNING BRAKE FAILURE BECAUSE THE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER AND ABS UNIT IS TOGETHER AS ONE.NOT SAFE TO DRIVE.COULD LOSE BRAKE CONTROL AT ANY TIME TOW IT IN.

SOURCE: abs code c 0036,front left wheel speed circuit range / performanc

I agree that it is more then like the the hub bearing assembly that also houses the speed sensor I would first check that there is no damage to the wiring that goes to the hub bearing that could be easy repaired, or debri that has been caked in between the sensor & the hub, use an air preesure to clean it out. Hub bearings are very expensive, so try this first. Good luck

I have 4 dash lights on - abs, brake, airbag and traction control as well as the speedo stopped working, the heated seats won't turn on-what might this be?

the ABS and traction light are on due to a failure with the speedometer. I SUSPECT A SEED SENSOR would be the culprit as if speed is not sensed from a wheel (RF / LF /RR / LR) the ABS module with be disabled and would lite the ABS and Brake light. the airbag and heated seats are on separate circuit. the air bag should be diagnosed with a handheld device ( go to advance auto or similar type parts store)n they will read the code.. post the code and I may be able to help ... also ask em to get the ABS / Brake codes a ell

My abs light comes on what does this mean

This Warning is usually pretty accurate. There are revolution counters on each wheel and wiring which goes from the wheels to the ABS Master unit. If anything is interrupted, like signals going through the wires or the revolution counters, a Warning will appear. There are a few components which work with the Brakefluid, but usually an additional trouble light with a Brake symbol will appear.
A Scanner with the added circuits for testing the ABS can be attached to the car to diagnose the problem based on the computer Memories of the defect. Call ahead to Autozone, Advance, or Oreilys autoparts for FREE diagnosis IF they have the better Scanner capable of checking this for you.
Sometimes worn out brake material simply gets in the way of the sensors and you need new brake parts and service. Go to one of the autoparts places that have the correct scanner.

Abs code 81

This one is considered a "soft fault" and will not show up until 15 mph when it turns on the light. Your switch could be OK and something else in Circuit #420 (that's the factory number for the circuit). What the light really means is the BPMV is not seeing the brake switch signal.
After a little more reading your condition is probably caused by an open brake switch circuit (bad switch). Happy to help. Drove me nuts and I was sweating having to buy a new ABS unit. Switch was like $15.00 and adjusts itself.

Abs and tcs and service light on. checked code was rr abs sensor shorted. cheched wires and connections all are fine. replaced rr sensor car has same code . any ideas?

Well, it could mean that the emergency brake has not been fully released. The ABS system light is on if something has occurred within the ABS system. Something faulty may have happened there, get it checked out!
