SOURCE: My 2001 F150 won't shift into park.... It will shift into every other gear but park. Unless I go under the truck and manually turn the linkage back into park. Any ideas of what the problem may be?

Gday mate, geoff here, now on your shifter if column shift there is an adjustment where it goes down the box from the steering column under the hood and if stick shift should be just under the console, alternitiveley the rubber grommets on the linkage are worn and need replacement, some fuel hose will surfice here if the grommets are unavailable at the parts counter, hope this helped, geoff.

My gear shift lever on my 2001 dodge dakota won't shift out of park. I checked the brake lights and they come on when I press the brake pedal. It worked fine his morning. Temp is about 25 degrees...

The shift Solenoid by be bad the will not unlock the shifter. If you really need to get going ..You can physically override the shifter. Read your manual and it will tell you how to do it. In the mean time check all your fuses. There are many plastic parts that can crack split or come apart on some solenoids.

2001 dodge dakota sport shifting ok until heats up and them only has 1st gear and reverse

I presume it's an automatic--could be low fluid or internal pressure problem in trans. Check fluid level when warm --read dipstick as to whether to put in park or neutral when checking. Otherwise, take to shop for testing.

I have a 2001 doge dakota sport rwd and the rpm's are low, some times the truck will stall shifting from reverse to drive. idels around 500 rpm and drops to shift out of park or neutral. can you please...

Most likely need to clean your IAC sensor, dodges are notorious for having this prob, depending on your engine, it should be on the rear of your throttle body held in place by 2 torx screws
