There may be a possiblity of doing damage to the turbo if you continue to drive it this way. I would recommend either taking it to the dealer or a reputable repair shop in your area to have this repaired as soon as possible, as to not risk damaging the turbo. Hope this helps.

Hi, check out this article, it's detailed on what to check: http://www.obd-codes.com/p0446
SOURCE: I have a 2005 Chevy Malibu. The check engine
"This indicates a fuel vapor leak in the EVAP control system. It means a very small leak has been detected. In fact, the leak can be from a hole as small as 0.04" in diameter. The (EVAP) emission control system prevents the escape of fuel vapors from a vehicle's fuel system. Fuel vapors are routed by hoses to a charcoal canister for storage. Later, when the engine is running a purge control valve opens allowing intake
vacuum to siphon the fuel vapors into the engine."
Hope that helps..

you have to understand that there is a leak in the system other than the gas cap for the evaporative system. The system needs to be professionally closed, and smoke introduced into to find the leak, and a through component check, eg.. purge valve vapor canister vent solenoid all functioning correctly
