What computer are you talking about , engine computer. It doesn't matter because there is no reset button. You need a scan tool or disconnect the negative battery cable for 5 or 10 min. Is the vehicle check engine light on , is that what's going on here ? You can try an reset the computer, but if the computer system has a problem it will come back on. An if the light is on you need to have it scanned for codes.
if its diesel there is a fuel shut off solonoid that goes bad u can use ur fingers to lift the arm and the engine will die. the solonoid is located on the drivers side toward the rear of the engine. the arm points strait down. pull it up to shut the fuel up (caution sometimes the arm will spring up snappng ur fingers keep fingers underneath the solonoid arm
there may a sensor for the gasoline levels in your car that will shut off your fuel pump, there may be a reset button on the passanger floorboard, do you here any sound from the fuel pump when you just turn the key to on position but don't try to start?
