Computer is sensing a drive ability problem which shuts down the transmission preventing damage. Called limp mode. You need to hook up a scanner and see what codes the engine has.

use the I drive system to reset flat tire monitor, go to vehicle settings, then flat tire monitor, then select reset, then you have to drive the car system resets as you drive

Sounds like a fuel problem , have you changed the fuel filter in a while ? could be the knock sensor or the knock sensor module needs to be replaced.
