SOURCE: changing time on clock radio 1999 ford explorer xls

To set the hour, press and hold the CLK control and press SEEK. (Use arrows to increase or decrease hours). To set the minutes, press and hold the CLK control and press TUNE and use arrows.

This should work unless your vehicle has a separate clock module.(Other than the digital radio display).

SOURCE: wiring a ford explorer sport for a trailer

I can only assume your not the orignal owner/purchaser of this '99 Explorer, so im gonna say no if it doesnt have a factory trailer hitch and towing package. did you have an after market hitch installed on this truck? if not, please dont tell me you plan to use the "cheesy" factory drilled hole in the rear bumper (near/below the license plate area)? BAD IDEA if thats the case, the bumper brackets cant handle much of a load at all, bad idea for them to even put that stupid hole there to begin with. Also, if you see there isnt a "factory" harness, you can go to your local auto parts store and pick 1 up designed specifically for that vehicle within a range of model years sharing that same platform, eg. 1997-2001 model years may all use the same harness set. let me know how it turns out and if this even helped you in any way. Good luck.

SOURCE: radio display doesnt light up

I had the same problem too. Eventually ended up at www.shareamemory.com. You can either purchase instructions on how to repair it yourself or purchase a reconditioned board. I attempted to fix it myself and realized that I can't solder. So I purchased a board and have a had a brightly lit display for at least two years. I hope this works for you

Which wire in my 1999 ford ranger could cause my fuse to been blow

You would look up your fuse diagram on the Web and identify which fuse keeps blowing. Then determine whether the part the wire goes to is bad or the wire itself. As an example, you would probably notice your Radio does not play. You would look to the fuse diagram to see if the fuse is broke that goes to your radio. Then you would need to have the radio checked to see if it was good. If it was good, the only possible result is a bad wire.

Radio wiring different than everywhere on the web says it is.

the power amp is usually under the back seat.your stereo sounds like the 2000 premium model.take the radio out and go to ford and they will match it up to get you the right info for an aftermarket harness.the ford service manual has the pin out,and you can wire it all from that data.

Short ?

the wiring for the dome light, door ajar and radio is most likely crossed with the brake light wires causeing it to turn off power or on when pressing the brakes giving electricity to the lights and then it could be cutting off the power to the radio
