from memory there is no main battery fuse what is the prob? sounds like you have a bad main battery earth lead connection problem check that first

Fuse box location for BMW z3

The main fuse panel is in the front PS engine compartment (near PS headlight but it has various fuses everywhere.
Here is the Elec. troubleshooting pfd that may help or not ;-) :

The ECU would be another place to look. This is really sad and I can see you could spend a lot of money chasing a solution. My suggestion is, spend the money once, go to an Auto Electrician and get them to provide the answer which should be pretty quick.

Fuse box

you actually have a few different fuse locations. the main fuse box is located inside the glove box. open the glove box and look up. you should see 2 white tabs. twist them either clockwise or counter clockwise 1/4 turn.the panel should then be exposed. a sheet with the fuses and descriptions should be there to.
