I have a 1997 Nissan pickup.
I had done some work on it & then I was test driving it up the road & I drove approximately 1 mile then my truck just stopped running.
I opened the hood & the hose had blow off & my truck had over heated it has something that will keep it from running when it gets to hot. If your vehicle has cooled off.
Some of these cars have ignition control modules that can go bad & it will stop any sparks from going to the plugs.
I had a 1979 Grand Prix that had this problem
Get you a service manual for this vehicle.
Hi Hendry Ok So it works, then it should work in car.
The only reason it will not work is you have no power to it or it is not earthing properly.
Is the rotor turning when you crank engine if not you have an issue with either the distributor drive or whatever drives it.
You mentioned it sparks so I am assuming you have points fitted (not electronic).
I am also assuming that it is still connected to the wiring on the vehicle when you turn it by hand if so that should rule out the electrics I.e. coil etc. Good luck
