Unable to open or close quarter panel

Unfortunately, you will have to remove the panel of the door, Use flathead screwdriver to pry open. It is very likely the spring fell off.

2 possible solutions. First clean the door pin contacts(multiple spring loaded pins on door side and matching plate on body) with a scotch pad until shiny gold color again. Second the rear edge of the door should be 1mm inside the body opening when closed. If those are correct it is going to take a software download from a dealer to the door control module to fix this. Otherwise you will have to pull the psd fuse and breaker from the right side dash fuse box.

You can get the panel off with the door closed. I just took mine off because of the same problem. The top portion is only connected with some clips inside the panel. Take the screws out of the rear side window first. The panel will pop off if you gently pry with a flatbar. under the panel are three screws. Remove the screws and lift up on the bottom panel. It comes right off. Find the cable that goes to the top latch and pull it. It should release and you can replace the door latch assembly. Mine were both broken and I am in the process of fixing them.
