My info says 56--62 psi fuel pressure, 2.2L engine. Key on engine off.

Usually if pressure is too high, you look for a problem on the return side. Maybe the return line is trying to clog? Don't take any fuel lines loose unless your sure there is no pressure on the fuel system.
What made you ask about fuel pressure, are you having problems?
My info says fuel pressure too high, check the return side. Fuel pressure too low, check the supply side. It also said the fuel pressure regulator could go either way?
Just add that fuel pressure spec came from vehicle specifications guide for that GM engine size. I tried to verify spec from different source, but, haven't found anything.
This truck has pressure regulator in fuel filter.I blew compressed air in the return line off filter and it is open.
Also it is new filter.
I understand. At the moment, I'm not sure of your problem? Are you worried the fuel pressure is too high? At the moment, I don't know what else?
Loads up at idle and full throttle with or with out tps unplug. Scan toll shows tps working fine.
Here is some GM fuel trim, notes.
If fuel trim is high at low speed and loads, look for a vacuum leak. If the fuel trim is high at high speeds and load, look for a fuel volume problem due to pump performance or a restriction. If fuel trim is high at all speeds and loads, look for a pcm input fault, maybe a maf issue, where applicable, or disconnected intake duct.
If you want notes for negative fuel trims, I'll post that also.
Usually when checking fuel pressure, after it builds up. I turn the key off and see if the pressure holds? If it drops like a rock, you have a fuel pressure leak.

Hi john.
not sure if you will find out from this link but have a look.
What is the fuel pump pressure on 2003 gmc Sonoma 2 2 sfi truck Google...

Hey there boatright33,
A few things things immediately come to mind.
There may be a problem with the engine controller. You could check the
ODBII onboard diagnostics. Auto part stores will usually do this for
you at no cost.
When you pulled the ones that were/went bad, how did the filters look? Could there be particulate matter still in the tank causing them to fail.
I always put this one off until last. Check the injectors. Are they gummed up?
Let me know what you find out
Mike

check to see if you removed the fuel pump solenoid, which is one of the steps you should have done when changing the pump.

The only thing left in this system is the fuel pressure regulator. You need to check pressure before the regulator and after the regulator if there is the problem then you need to replace it. I hope this helps. Don't forget to rate my answer.
SOURCE: Fuel pump fuse keeps popping
You have a short to ground or the pump is starting to go bad. You can run a seperate wire from the hot side of the fuse to your pump to see if it is the pump or if you use an ohm meter to check the wire and the pump. Get's a little technical though.
