2004 cavalier, clutch pedal goes to floor, no tension, do I have to replace entire clutch? what is the actuator?

Hydralic clutch, never slipped prior until one day went to shift, clutch pedal never came back up, it just went to the floor and stayed. I was able to pull it up by hand, but it just falls back to the floor.

SOURCE: Clutch pedal goes to the floor, then after pulling it up there is pressure...

There is either air in the system or a leak in the clutch slave cylinder. Check your fluid make sure it is full and the cap is tight.

SOURCE: 2000 cavalier clutch pedle goes to floor when pushed and stays there, clutch not working no pressure

You are going to have to replace the master and slave cylinders for the hydraulic clutch, the seals have failed in the slave, but from past experience they should always been replaced as a pair.

SOURCE: 2004 cavalier clutch pedal stays on floor, clutch

Check for fluid leaks first along the line. Also check the mechanical linkage. Then try bleeding it. Changing the master cylinder is your last resort. That way you dont buy parts you don't need.

SOURCE: clutch pedal stuck up

You have to replace the Slave Cyl. when you put on the new one you have to bleed it ..To get the air out of the new line.

SOURCE: started off with cluth sticking to floor.would

your clutch uses a hydraulic master and slave cylinder to disengage. It is likely that the slave has been leaking and the reservoir gone dry, thus allowing air into the system and reducing effectiveness. Check the clutch master cylinder reservoir (near the brake reservoir) fluid level. If low, also check the slave cylinder at the clutch for leakage. If leaking, replace the slave and bleed the system. If you need procedures or have more questions, please let us know.

Do you need to open gearbox to replace a clutch cylinder in golf 4

As slave cylinders fail on a regular basis, I would find it difficult to believe that the gear box has to be interfered with to replace /repair the cylinder .IT may prove difficult to get to but a workshop manual would describe how to remove the cylinder

Clutch fluid hydraulic

replace the clutch slave cylinder first and if the problem persists then change the clutch master cylinder as well . Bleed the system fully when done.

Clutch pedal goes to the floor but when i pump it it will come back

bad mc clutch
bad slave clutch.
can be either or both,
the hydralic clutch actuator has no adjustment other suz, older had cables, its no cable system as other states.
its auto adjusting
1: is Dot3/4 fluid leaking on either side of MC (clutch master cylinder)
2: is dot3/4 fluid leaking from the slave?
bingo fail for either leaking.
if no leaks the MC is bad, or not full of fluid.
3: does the fluid drop each weak, ( bingo for leaks)

2008 hyundai accent clutch slipping, i think?

seems a bit early for clutch. how many k's? I would start by checking the intake tube for splits & security & airflow sensor. they will cause the engine to rev but no response (like a slipping clutch) so its manual right?

My 1998 vw jetta clutch is having a problem. there was no signs of clutch slipping. clutch pedal went to floor, now there is no going and no sign of a broken cable.

You might need a new clutch attachment kit... there is a clip that usually goes bad and causes the cable to float.(No tension)

Clutch pedle stays down

if you have a hydralic clutch usually the pedal staying on the floor indicates air in the clutch lines. if so check 4 leaks at the filler and at the slave cylinder. however just bleeding the clutch system may temporarily fix your issue
