A rafter square is usually very accurate which makes it superior, in my experience, to most carpentry squares and so that is what I use mine for, it was cheaper too.
My new rafter square arrived with a book of instructions but not needing to cut rafters I only took a brief look inside. They seemed fairly complex and I believe they would only make sense if I had seen a demonstration.
Working out the slope of a roof and marking and cutting rafters to the correct angle is one of the core skills of carpentry that takes apprentices quite a long while to learn and thoroughly understand.
I suggest you begin by looking for video help on youtube, asking around friends and neighbours as it is surprising how many have a chequered history - and then perhaps randomly approaching tradesmen you see working on houses. Maybe even visiting your local college.

You take 36 x 32 and that gives you 1,152 square feet of area. Then you put it into a roofing calculator website and you get this.
To have 10% buffer would require 13 roof squares.
By United States standard, the roof will need: 35 bundles of composition shingles (each bundle will cover ~33 ft2) 12 rolls of roll roofing (~36 in × 36 ft for each roll) 3 rolls of #15 felt (~36 in × 144 ft for each roll) 6 rolls of #30 felt (~36 in × 72 ft for each roll)
Roofing ceramic tiles do not have a standard size. Consult contractors to determine the amount needed.
So you need 35 bundles, but you could probably get away with 32 if it is a nice rectangle.

Yes if you go into the trunk you will find a small passage to get to the pump there will be a little T- shaped knob on top turn this untill it stops and you will be able to lift the top to close it.
Johnson bar, crow bar, wrench, or 3/8 braker bar. GM's normally have a square hole where the 3/8s braker bar fits in and you can remove tensioin by using that. Some GM's there is a raised edge that's in a rectangle shape. Using a wrench, not sure the size, you can remove tension with that. You can use a crow bar but the braker bar is much more effective.
