My 1998 Ford Explorer Defrost Heater isn't blowing any air to the defrost Is this a fuse?

The blower isnt blowing any air. I can put my hand up where the heat comes out for the defrost, and it is warm but the fan isnt pushing any air out. The fan for the back blows air. I can turn the rear control and it blows hot air but the defrost in the front is a separate control and it doesn't. I found the fuse box but can not find a diagram for it to be able to check the fuse.

If your front blower motor isn't working on any setting, could be the blower motor itself, the blower resistor, or sometimes the wire pigtail to either one could be the problem.

your controls have problems. the heat is there it is just not getting out because your control lines are not setting the vent controls into the proper positions. i had a chev van that lost some of the foam in side there and it blocked the whole front off. i had to rip it all apart to get at it

It's less than foot from the heater core. I would guess that either the damper doors are not on correctly or the vent hoses are not hooked up. Can you hear the blower motor running? Maybe they didn't hook the motor back up when they replaced the heater core. It takes a ground and a hot wire.I can't remember where it's at but it may be part of the same unit. Did you check the fuse?

You have clean the blower unit , may be its dirty then . and then check the blower resistor unit for malfunction.

Sounds like you have air trapped in the heater core when you flushed the heater core. loosen the upper most heater core hose and run the engine untill coolant seeps out. Wait until the coolant has reached running temperature.

SOURCE: 1998 Ford Taurus, heater won't blow hot air

common problem is the water resivor cracks up at the bottom... it appears that your water level is fine because the car doesnt over heat but i am willing to bet that resivor doesnt have water to the top. The radiator will hold just enough water to keep it cool. I replaced mine 3 times the sulution is doing to sound weird but go to the junk yard and get one off a murcury sable. dont know why but the sables res doesnt crack like that

Just started to happen. air conditioner, defrost, heater not blowing any air at any setting on 1998 ford explorer. my stereo was stolen a week ago. my husband pushed the wires back into the dash board....

There's a fan speed control module mounted on the firewall in the engine compartment. It probably needs to be replaced assuming you've checked the fuses and are certain a fuse isn't blown as a result of pushing the wiring back into the dash.

You probably have a vacuum leak on the passenger side. its a small plastic hose some times they come unpluged from the engine. or brake.
