Hook an amp meter or ammeter up to the neg. or pos. lead at the battery. If it drains more than .2 Amps then it is drawing too much power in its dormant ignition off state.

Try to take the vehicle to a battery retailer that will have a starting/charging/battery tester that can pinpoint data on your vehicle as to whether the battery itself is bad, or if there is an excessive drain on the car, or if the car is not charging the battery sufficiently.

The oil filter should be in a housing with a plastic top with a big hex shape on top. You remove it with a 36mm wrench or socket.
Then you remove the O-ring from the cover and replace it with a freshly oiled up new O-ring from the filter package. Pull out the old filter and press in the new one. Screw the cover back down. No need to overtighten. The O-ring is the seal.
