It may be running because the engine hasn't cooled down. These fans will run until the engine reaches a specific cool temp. But if it's not running hotter than normal temp, it's within the temp switch, which reads the temp of the engine, or the relay could be bad and not know when to shut down. While you're driving look to see what the temp gauge is reading. This will lead you in different direction for the temp. switch.

• Turn on ignition.

• Hold down Right trip button and continue to do so whilst turning off ignition.

• Still with Right trip button held down turn ignition back on.

• Release Right trip button.

• With ignition still on turn Left trip button to the Right and release.

• Turn off ignition.

P0404 means Exhaust Gas Recirculation Circuit Range/ Performanc

Could be a head gasket leak as white smoke is a sign of water. I would suggest having it checked. It doesnt take alot to cause white smoke.

If no one can get you the code you will have to call the dealer with vin and serial number on the back of radio vw charges up to $75. for the code good luck.

turn off key turn the button clockswise on the right hand side off the dash at the same time turn on key then let go of everythig and press the button on the left had side of the dash. turn off and on the key to see if it worked

so it will run for 3-4 hours till the battery is drained?
