if you manually push up on the EGR valve and the engine doesn't stall and the passages are all cleaned out then the problem is the EGR valve.

Code 404 is for a problem with the EGR valve and code 307 is for a miss on cylinder 7.
The egr valve would need to be tested, and the spark plug and injector checked out on cylinder 7.

CODE P1406 - EGR VALVE PINTLE POSITION CIRCUIT MALFUNCTION CONDITIONS. POSSIBLE CAUSES EGR SOLENOID VALVE IS BINDING OR STICKING. EGR SOLENOID CONTROL CIRCUIT IS OPEN SHORTED TO GROUND OR TO B+. EGR SOLENOID POWER CIRCUIT IS OPEN CHECK THE ECS 10AMP FUSE.EGR SOLENOID FAILED. PCM HAS FAILED.

1. Detach the vacuum hose from the EGR valve.
   
2. Remove the two nuts which secure the EGR valve to the intake manifold assembly.
   
3. Remove the valve and gasket from the manifold.
   
4. Clean all gasket material from both mating surfaces.
   
5. Check the vacuum hose for deterioration and replace as necessary.
   

To install:

1. Inspect the exhaust gas passages in the intake manifold and clean as necessary. Clean the EGR valve assembly as necessary.
   
2. Using a new gasket, install the EGR valve.
   
3. Tighten the EGR valve securing nuts to 17-19 ft. lbs. (22-25 Nm).
   
4. Install the hose on the EGR valve.

Hello, Code 1406 refers to the EGR Valve pintle position, If the wiring and connector is okay then you will need a new EGR Valve, It is located on side of engine on top near the fuel lines attached with two bolts has one electrical connector

Pull off the EGR valve and cea the carbon off of it next put a hose on the vac port on the egr and **** on the tube does the egr pintal valve open up? if yes then te egr valve is working, once the egr valve is open put the tip of your toung on the hose and see if it stays open if it does not then the EGR valve is defective. is there any smells coming from the rotors if so the pistons on the rotors are staying open
