I have a 95 ford windstar with 3.8L engine. No previous starting problems ( owned 8 years ). One day with, no previous warnings poor starting etc., it would not fire. I sprayed starting fluid in the air intake for 2-3 seconds and it started right up and ran fine. Restarted normally for 5-6 starts, then same problem, same solution, same results. The third time it wouldn't start, the starting fluid had no effect other than to run a few seconds till the fluid burned up.One month old battery, 1/2 tank fuel.
What do you think ?
Clogged fuel filter maybe or the fuel pump isnt coming on or the injectors are bad.
Hello, first check the fuel pressure and if it's to low for that Ford 3.8 L engine. If the fuel pressure is to low then check and replace the fuel filter. Now, check the fuel pressure if it is OK, then you had a plug fuel filter Now, if the fuel pressure is still to low then you'll need to replace the fuel pump which is located in the fuel tank.
I hope this help you out here buddy. GB...stewbison
