SOURCE: trunk struts don't work
Unfortunately, yes you do have to replace them. They are gas charged, and cannot be repaired. Most local parts stores either have them on the shelf, or can get them in a day or two. Most parts stores will even assist you in changing them.

they should when you purchase them let hem know you need both left and right but i believe they are the same as you should be able to turn the rod itself .
