SOURCE: 1998 Ford Windstar AC compressor

They get more than warm, but not excessively hot that you can't touch it. This can be caused by a faulty condenser fan motor, dirty condenser coil even low freon, which is my guess along with a dirty condenser. Check these two issues and if it's not the problem your compressor may be getting ready to die. because of internal issues with the motor windings. Make sure the fan is running to speed, clean the condenser and see if the larger copper pipe to the compressor is ice cold and sweaty, if not you may need freon

SOURCE: Need to remove A/C Compressor from 2003 Ford Windstar

the easiest way to do this would be to remove alternator and bracket, then the compressor will easily fit thru the top.

SOURCE: 1998 saturn sc2 P0303 code just came up. already

p303 is a cylinder 3 missfire I woul first check the coil and then the ingnition module, Then if this dont work you could have a bad injector. If after testing and still no fix you should check the compression in that cyl.

How do I disconnect ac on a 91 charade.?

remove compressor drive belt I guess, removes main mechanical burden ...if you want to remove compressor itself, or even condensor, to save the weight of car carrying that now redundant component around, you can do that too..bear in mind before loosening off any hoses or steel gas lines of the system that it will contain a/c coolant gas still under some pressure. Compressor is the main weight and mechanical burden on engine, although when system is switched off the compressor pulley load drive effort is low, anyway.
if car has one "serpentine" belt driving everything, rather than a separate AC drive belt, then, it is possible that removing the compressor will necessitate fitting a new shorter engine belt compatible with no AC.Depends of car's belt arrangement.

98 Windstar 3.8l code p0340 keeps coming

I'm pretty sure that sensor is a two wire, which produces an AC volt signal back to the computer. You would test it with an analog volt meter while the engine is cranking or running.
It could be a problem with the object the sensor is supposed to be "watching" such as the end of the cam shaft.

Why wont my A/C Compressor and High Coolant Fans Engage?

Check for broken wiring, blown fuses, possible bad relays, and look at the pressure switch. Some systems have a high pressure switch (some have a low pressure also) that prevent the compressor from running. If it is faulty or damaged, it could be preventing the compressor from running. Wire damage could be possible with front end damage.

Location of ac high pressure cutout switch on a 97 Plymouth voyager. Could it be a different problem? Had to replaced the PCM and a couple sensors because of a short in the wiring cluster. Now the ac...

HIGH PRESSURE CUTOFF SWITCH LOCATED ON AC COMPRESSOR DISCHARGE LINE LEADING TO THE CONDENSOR.THE HIGH PRESSURE CUTOFF SWITCH WILL CUT OFF THE AC COMPRESSOR IF SYSTEM PRESSURE RISES TO HIGH CAUSED BY RESTRICTION IN THE REFRIGERANT CIRCUIT OR OVERHEATED CONDENSOR.MAKE SURE COOLING FAN IS RUNNING WHEN THE AC SWITCH IS ON.THE COOLING FAN KEEP CONDENSOR COOL, IF COOLING FAN DONT RUN.YOUR AC WILL STOP BLOWING COLD AIR.HAVE THE REFRIGERANT SYSTEM CHECK OUT.MAKE SURE YOUR LOW SIDE PRESSURE IS 10 - 37 PSI. THE HIGH SIDE PRESSURE SHOULD BE 112 - 210 PSI. CHECK THE AC COMPRESSOR CLUTCH FUSE AND RELAY.

AC compressor and clutch on 2003 Ford Windstar need replacing - no coolant to drain, so that eliminates having repair shop drain it. We are trying to DIY. Anyone have the tech manual on this and/or...

There is coolant to drain...but you don't need to.
However, you should not do the compressor in your driveway - removing the lines will vent the refrigerant to the atmosphere, also professional equipment needs to be used to clear out the system of air and charge it with the right amount of refrigerant.

But....all you need to do is remove the lines from the compressor, remove the serpentine drive belt, and disconnect the electrical from the clutch. Remove all the bolts mounting the compressor to the engine or bracket. From there you can see how the clutch and what not comes off and goes on .

I have an 01 windstar with misfire on cyl 3 and 4

check your coil I have seen alot of the fords with the ohv 3.0 engines that the coils will have cracks in the plastic and jump fire ground out etc. if thats not it take some carb cleaner and spary around your intake and listen for changes in the running for a vacum leak. hope this helps.

What causes a1994 honda accord engine to stall when the air conditioner is turned on

plugs and wires time ! Most likely, as when the engine takes that kind of load (it works much harder when ac is turned on) weak plugs and or wires wont keep the rig running. Imports like yours have a plethora of things that are interconnected... that or your AC condensor - compressor is bad- and when it engages on your engine, (one of the things the serpentine belt is connected to) it CANNOT turn on the inside, and since it is trying to turn your compressor-condensor at the same time as everything else, it just stalls out. If you can live without the ac, you can usually buy a belt that will be shorter for non-ac versions of your car, or it will have a seperate belt all on its own. the compressor-condensor is the peice with all the metal tubes and rubber tubes around it. This will also give you better mileage. Have a nice day!

Toyota celica, air conditioner will not work, evac done and recharged, nothing, changed out low pressure switch and still nothing. switch on dash blinks when you press it, compressor tries to come but cuts...

Weird, usually the pressure cut out switch, if you manually "bridge" this (only briefly say 4 secs) the a/c should work, sometimes a plugged/blocked condensor or evaparator will cause this . Also look at engine related temp switches, example water, as these are designed to overide and turn off the ac if the car gets too hot etc.
1)Bridge switch
2) ? oil level in compressor (seized??)
3) temp switches,
4)double check that the system is not blocked, coz if it is then the compressor will only go briefly and then stop due to "overpressure"
