this is a engine code telling you there is a fault in the system it should either be a constant blinking or 1 or 2 blinks or more followed by another set of blinks count them and write them down as there may be more than one set of codes ...this will determine what the issue is {example 2 steady blinks followed by another set of blinks equaling a number } or simply take it to a parts store that will diagnose it most will do it for free and tell you what needs servicing and what the code means

SOURCE: Engine cuts out, or stalls while driving. Will

I have been told the following as my BMW 320i Touring experienced the same problem
1. the lose of power occurs gradually
2. It occurs when the car loses traction in the drive wheels. For example a free spinning wheel will cause the car to lose power and stall
3. There is no other indication that there is any problem - all other functions appear to be working
4. Having baldish tyres could also trigger an event if the wheels spin
5. Could happen if the wheel is lifted or spins on a wet or oily road

The car restarts
I am still wanting to verify this as it appears that the only condition that triggered the event to occur on my BWM was that the rear tyre are nearing replacement stage- Road and conditions were good and the wheels were not spinning or free wheeling

SOURCE: loud engine whine (like a jet noise) from 2002 subaru forester

I listened to a few parts of my 03 forester engine with a stethoscope. I had the same high pitched whine that gets louder when I accelerate. I've even had friends that ask if I have a turbo haha. Anyway, I thought it was a pulley, but it appears to be the power steering pump that makes the noise. It wasn't suggested to me that a new pump was needed, but I might replace it one day to get rid of the noise.

SOURCE: grinding/whining sound

Sounds like your mechanic didn't do something right. Take it back to him to correct problem.

It sounds like a wheel bearing is going bad. They are easy to change. If you have a place to jack the vehicle up. Try spinning the front wheels. You should hear a scraping noise as the wheel turns. Also replace both sides at the same time,as the otherside is not far behind.
