With the starter fluid, I think your fuel is the problem. Change the filter and make sure you get fuel coming out at the injector rail.

SOURCE: not starting!

Check and see if the Injectors are firing. Disconnect one of the injectors and use a test light and paperclip. Put the paperclip in one of the disconnected injector connectors terminals, clip the testlight to the paperclip. Now touch the tip of the testlight to the other terminal in the same connector DON'T LET THE TWO TOUCH TOGOTHER AT ANY TIME!! Have someone crank the engine the light should blink if so good Now do it to the other three I have seen a bad computer that was only firing two injectors,
If its the computer you cannot just go and buy a used one and pop it in they are programmed to the vehicles VIN # you will go to the Chevy Dealer to have the program uploaded into the PCM in the truck
Please give me a fixya f you think this information is helpful Thanks Randy

have you checked all ofyour fuses? usually when you hook up a battery backwads you end up blowing a fuse and or fry your alternator on older modeled vehicles as there is no protection for it.

SOURCE: engine turns over strong but wont start

one answer is lack of compression in the cylinders, normally associated with high miles.
could also be valve seats/spark plug gap/dirty air filter, there are a few more but start with the cheapest to diagnose and work up.....

2009 Hyundai Elantra.Warm starting problems and lack of power

Check your timing marks. If you haven't set the timing correctly it will not run properly (this may not apply to you as Hyundai uses interference engines but it would explain why all the sensors are reading normal but the engine has no power) Other thing to check are coil packs. If you are pulling no code errors from the ECM it should theoretically be fine. What was the reason why you replaced all the sensors in the first place? It might be something you overlooked.

2000 hyundai elantra 2.0-fuel pump wont run when keys in on positon, only when cranking engine.

  1. Have you checked checked the timing. That's an important step at this point. Make sure it's on the mark. Remove the inspection cover and check timing and belt condition.

It cranks will not start

Hi there:
Two ways it could be a lack of fuel. Low fuel pressure or lack of injector pulse. Low fuel pressure is usually just a bad or weak fuel pump.. but you would want to check power to the pump when this happens before replacing it.

Injector pulse would be too low based on an input to the computer. These would include the coolant temp sensor, tps and mass air flow sensor.

Just a hit, sometimes the purge valve leaks fuel vapors into the intake and causes a hard start condition. However, this usually causes the engine to be flooded.. or have too much fuel or fuel vapors.

Other posibilitie could be the CKP (Crankshaft Position) sensor, but rare.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Thank you for using FixYa, have a nice day.

2003 Hyundai Sonata with 4 cyl. PO301 error code. Have replaced spark plugs, wires, coil packs, and mass air flow sensor. Replaced air filter due to heavy gas smell. Car was starting after tapping gas 3...

P0301 - Cylinder 1 Misfire Detected.

Possible Causes:
- Improper spark plug at cylinder #1
- Insufficient compression at cylinder #1
- Incorrect fuel pressure
- The injector circuit is open or shorted at cylinder #1
- Fuel injector #1 may be faulty
- Intake air leak at cylinder

Possible Solutions:
- Perform Injector Service
- Replaced Spark Plug #1
- Replaced Injector #1
- Replaced Ignition Coil #1

Being you have a heavy gas smell I would look into the injectors. If injector #1 is over producing it can cause a misfire. Test your compression and fuel pressure.

Need fil for error code P2626 Hyundai Elantra GLS

P2626 O2 Sensor Pumping Current Trim Circuit/Open (Bank 1 Sensor 1)

I'll sure this has to do with a faulty O2 sensor. This sensor is usually located around the header of your car, or down more on your exhaust.

Try disconnecting your battery for 30 mins, hook it back up, and start your car again. This will erase the error. See if it comes in again.

Hope this help (remember rated this post).

My hyndai santafe wont turn over

Which one is it?... Elantra?... or Santa Fe? In either case, the problem could be fuel pressure (fuel pump), then again, it might be crank sensor, coolant temp snsr, Intake Air Temp snsr. Have you scanned it for any trouble codes? Did the 'Check Engine' Light come ON? Whenever the 'CHECK ENGINE' (Service Engine Soon) light comes on, the ECU (Engine Control Unit) sets a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC). These codes identify the particular engine management system which caused the light to come on.
You'll need to use/find an OBDII (On-Board Diagnostic) Scanner to retrieve any code which have been stored in the ECU computer. Afterward, we might be able to help you DIAGNOSE the problem and perhaps eventually fix the problem.

My car wont start

Check the position of the wires with the coil, some coil in Hyundai have number 1,4,3,2 these number are the cylinder, in the motor the cylinder number 1 is the first of the left if you are in front of the hood, and check the spark gap to 1.0-1.1mm
