SOURCE: Can you have the idle air control valve checked to see if good?

I had a similar problem all it was a the rubber boot after the sensor was sightly disconnected and produced the same code. I would even take it as far if there is a decent rip in the boot would also cause the problem.

and yes you can test it

SOURCE: fuel/accelerator problems. dies when accelating or at idle. runs when accelerator held in one position for a short while.

CHECK THE IDLE SPEED SENSOR, UNPLUG IT AND SEE IF THE VEHICLE REVS UP A BIT. IF IT DOES, THEN REPLACE IT. ALSO CHECK THE FUEL PUMP RELAY IN THE FUSEBOX. HOPE THIS HELPS. .LET ME KNOW. GOOD LUCK

SOURCE: i have a 2005 dodge neon, throwing codes p0129,

you will have to deal with the u code first. This is a communication problem between computers. My first guess is you have a bad computer or an open wire somewhere. Their is no way a backyard mechanic can do this without the proper tools to diagnose and with the knowledge to not cause further damage.

SOURCE: my 2003 dodge stratus idles rough like it might

check or replace fuel filter for clogging up. if it does clog up, then you will not get enough fuel to engine to run it properly. it will stall at stops, and be very sluggish on takeoff. check fuel pressure if need be. could also be a bad catylist convertor. so check above first. Rent a fuel pressure guage from advance or oreilley's and check fuel pressure if needed. they will tell you the proper fuel pressure for your car.

1999 dodge neon gas pedal won't accelerate sometimes unless you push down really hard on pedal

Try cleaning the throttle body. Use a throttle body cleaner and do not flood the throttle body with the cleaner. You will have to open the throttle up and spray around the butterfly. It most likely carbon buildup and causing the butterfly to stick when you accelerate. A couple of short sprays will be fine, clean with a cloth. You will see a lot of black buildup flow out of the throttle body. After you wipe dry, let the intake hose stay off for a few minutes for the throttle to dry out.

Dodge neon gas pedal problem

Not sure what spring you're talking about with the CAI. The CAI is just pipes and hoses, there shouldn't be a spring. Have you driven another 2002 neon before? I know with some cars, the gas pedals are a lot stiffer than others. My gas pedal on my Focus is a lot stiffer and more sensitive than my friend's aveo or civic. The spring I think you're refering to is probably the one hooked up to the pedal itself which is easy. Just pull out the old spring and put in a new one.

My neon 2002 send codes p0500, p0700 and p1684 when i stop in a light the revolutions will go from 900 to 500 and it will start shaking if i hit the gas pedal it recovers to 900rpm

i had the same problem at stop lights.

i had the computer flashed to the latest version at the dealer for free, and the shaking is gone and idle is back to normal. i was kicking the car back to normal idle just like you.

(although, i'm not sure if there's a deeper problem or not. now i'm experiencing sluggish acceleration and sometimes have difficulty accelerating over 60mph. sometimes fine, sometimes not. so you might run into that next...)

Car won't pick up speed on acceleration

You're not getting enough fuel. You should check your fuel pressure. If you have enough fuel pressure, your injectors are probably clogged up. Run a lot of fuel cleaner through your tank when you put gas in and see if it makes any difference. Lucas fuel treatment is the best to use.

Rough idle, backfire on acceleration

check everything you can under the hood your air intake system all of it especially make sure all clamps are tight .. and make sure all vacuum hoses are good and not cracking or broken or just loose . you might run a little fuel cleaner through a tank of gas too cleaning the engine fuel system up some. just a few ideas..
