2008 GMC Sierra 2500 HD. Over heats occasionally and intermittently.first time it happened I was pulling a camper the heat guage went to 125c .

I slowed down the truck shifted down and the guage dropped rapidly It happened again about about 25 km later this time the gauge didn't drop as soon but when it did it dropped rapidly again. It didn't happen again on that trip even going up a steep hill. The next day running empty it did the same thing. It seemed to not cool as quickly as the truck didn't shift down. But seamed to be ok after it was shut down and restarted. The coolent level is good and there has been no loss during any situation. There has been no message saying the coolent was hot.

SOURCE: i have a 94 gmc sierra with 350 that has problem shifting to 2nd

Your problem likely resides with the hydraulic valve that operates the band for second gear, or lack of hydraulic pressure in the transmission. If the actuator in the transmission that operates second gear is getting sticky, then it will cause this. A filter change and flush may help, but it's likely time to start looking for someone to tear down your transmission, or replace it.

SOURCE: I have a dodge ram 1500, 2001, on my oil pressure

If you feel a difference in the vehicles performance it's probably not the sensor. Change the oil, and filter. Check the oil for metal flakes, shiny specs floating in the oil. Fill it back up one quart short. Add a quart of transmission fluid. Tranny fluid is a detergent, it will help clean any blockages and build up. Drive it for a week. Then change the oil again. If that doesn't fix it, you might have to drop the oil pan and clean that out. There should be a magnet in the pan. This collects metal that will harm your engine. Make you you clean it and put it back. Check the oil pickup, remove it and clean it out. Once you drop the pan, you will have access to the oil pump and it's sensor. Check them out to.

What causes the torque converter not to cut in on a 2005 GMC 2500 sierra, causing the transmission to heat up? This happens when pulling.

the torque converter isnt locking up, if it doesnt lock then it just spins causing the transmission to slip and heat to build. it sounds like you may be looking at a rebuild soon. i suggest going with suncoast transmissions, its what i have in my pulling truck.

The drivers side low beam went out on my2007 gmc hd 2500 new style truck,it had to go in to the body shop anyway for a dent ,so i had them replace the bulbwhile they had it out any way ,i had them put...

I think these bulbs are not as great as they are deemed to be. I bought and still use them. These bulbs create so much heat that your headlight will turn yellow looking from the heat. Also if you get a small amount of oil from the hands on these bulbs, they will burst. I just wonder if they were handled wrong by the person installing them. I personally don't care for them for the heat generated.. You may also have a bad connector which would be hard to say is on both sides. Another vehicle of ours which is a Ford had a bad connector.
