Me i find synthetic oil to be better in winter the engine turn faster in cold start but it mush more expensive to use synthetic if your looking to save money synthetic oil good for 15000 km regular around 5000km use synthetic oil because its better for the engine not to save money
There are two different engine sizes at Pontiac Transport. You can find it reading the 8th digit of the Vehicle Identification Number. This is the engine code. 6-231 (3.8L, VIN "L") 6-191 (3.1L, VIN "D") To buy the motor go to the Internet @: http://www.car-part.com/ Select the Year, Make, and Model of your car. 1993, Pontiac, Transport. Select Engine. Select the size of Engine. I found some engines, Engine Size 3.8L, for $750.
Your engine needs tune up if you havent done this for a long time, also be alert of overheating check your temp gauge next time it happens again on a stop light. be free to comment,
I do not have a year or motor size so I am going to guess 1990 350 V-8. Here could be a reason for a knocking motor. In order to replace your intake you had to pull your distributor. The shaft on the bottom of the distributor fits into a forked type shaft that is connected by a nylon sleeve and It turns the oil pump. All this is turned by the gearing on the distributor. If you did not stab the fork when you where installing the distributor or broke the nylon sleeve that fits to the oil pump then you were not turning the oil pump and this would cause your motor to not lubricate itself. To do a quick check remove one of your valve covers and turn you vehicle on and see if oil is squirting out of the rocker arm holes. This will tell you very fast if you are getting oil throughout the motor. Good luck and I hope for the best.
