SOURCE: power window problem

On my girlfriend's Civic, the same problem cropped up and it was the driver's door switch assembly. The power for all the windows is routed to the driver's door switches, and from there, out to the other doors (that's how the window lock on the driver's door is able to shut off the window power in the back doors). If your driver's door switch assembly has failed, you'd have no power to the windows, regardless of which switches you're trying to use. I'd suggest going to a salvage yard and finding a new driver's door switch assembly and swapping it into your car and see if that fixes it. It shouldn't run you more than $15 or so, and they're generally pretty easy to swap out - figure a few basic tools and maybe a half hour or 45 minutes of your time.

SOURCE: courtesy lights don't work

You will need to test the Body Control Module, it controls the lights.

SOURCE: No dash lights 1995 Jeep GCL

Dash lights are fed through the headlight switch. If the headlights work, then you could have a bad switch. Before you go replacing the switch, get a wiring manual for the car and see if you are getting 12v at the wire that supplies the dash lights. I forgot the color of it.

SOURCE: tail lights on 2004 nissan maxima out.

hey i just fixed mine with the same exact problem, look, all you have to do is open your 3rd fuse box which is next to your washing fluid on the passenger´s side under the hood, for that you need to remove the cover wich is pretty easy (5 staples all you need is a thin flat screw driver to lift the center of the staple and then the whole staple) then you take off the cover and then you open the fuse cover, you are looking for the TAILLIGHT fuse wich is the first on the upper row from right to left if you are standing on the passenger side looking towards the drivers side (you can also look for that fuse in the fuse box cover diagram) remembre is a 15A fuse, replace it, jaja and thats how you save some dollars. saludos desde guadalajara mexico.

SOURCE: key fob no longer unlocks car doors or trunk

you may have to replace the remotes and then have them reprogramed for the car because they do go bad but if there is an autozone near you they will test the remotes for free

My 96 maxima wont turn over. Switched out battery and changed connectors. Starter is fine and the alternator is brand new. Whenever I turn the key the only lights that come on are the sensor lights on the...

it sounds like you may have a bad ignition switch, check all the main fuses 20 and 30amp under the hood also check body ground straps, otherwise you will need to remove the plastic cover around the steering colum and using a test light check for power to each wire at the ignition switch , every wire will have voltage in some position of the key being turned

My dash lights are not working , all the fuses are all good and everything esle works fine it a 96 gt legacy

You will need to pull the cover off of the guage assembly. There are little light bulbs inside that have probably burned out. Replace them and your dash lights should work again. Hope this helps. Good luck.

My brake lights are not working, the signal and 4 way flashers work but not the brake lights, what could be the issue? My suv is a 96 gmc jimmy sls 4 door, 4wd.

If both brake lights stopped working at the same time it could be the bulb even though the flashers work, but more than likely it is a fuse. Check your fuse panel in the dash and also the fuse box under the hood.

No tail lights, tag light, dash board lights in 97 Nissan Maxima

If you don't have a manual, just get a test light, and ground it to your door hinge. At the back of every fuse, you will see part of the metal filament showing through. Touch your test light to each side of the fuse. You should have power to both sides of every fuse (when your key is on). If no voltage on one side, the fuse is burnt.

Flickering Lights

You do need an alternator. Nissan has a campaign on Maxima alternator in certain years such as 96-98 I believe. Go to your friendly Nissan dealer abd have them punch your VIN number into the NNA net. they will know and that will tell them if your vehicle applies by the VIN. I have seen the alternator on fire. There was fire inside of the alternator. Have it checked or the car can catch on fire.

Cannot get car out of "Valet mode"

First start by looking inside the cars fuse box, there should be a fuse named "ROOM". Take it out and check if its still good. If not replace with the same amp fuse.

2004 dodge neon fuse problem.

The dome tight is actually a combo fuse/light. If that light is burned out; 1 the locks won't work, and 2 the odometer will flash "FUSE" and 3 the "DOOR" warning light will stay on - try replacing the bulb. If it stays on with all the doors closed, more then likely one of the switches that are built into each of the door latches is not making the correct contact to shut off the dome light/dash light. The correct fix is to replace the defective latch. The other option is to just cut the wires that feel the switch inside the door - then the car will think that door is always closed and the lights will not come on when you open that door.
