SOURCE: shifting problem

One solution could be the break/safety solenoid. Make sure that the break/safety solenoid is clicking. If it isn't clicking, the AT gear shift is not going to move. If the break/safety solenoid isn't working you can get around it by releasing the AT gear shift with a key on top of base of the steering wheel, but (WARNING) you will have no break lights. I repeat NO BREAK LIGHTS.

SOURCE: Engine cuts off in traffic when car slows.

Sounds like it could be an ignition module breaking down.

SOURCE: car cutting out when idleing

Here is the most common cause of surges and stalls at stops and low erratic idle speed and rough idle, it is in most cases the idle speed control air-bypass valve and or throttle valve and upper intake, these area's get full of gunk and combustion residue over the miles and cause idle issues (stalls, low idle) like yours, Get a can of intake cleaner from any local parts store, not carb spray, intake cleaner, it is made by a company called CRC, remove the air intake hose to the engine, hold the idle high so the engine won't stall, then spray the can of cleaner into the intake while keeping the engine running, use at least 1/2 the can, shut down the engine and disconnect the battery for 5 minutes, then restart and complete a number of mixed driving cycles, town, freeway, stop and go etc., after a few days the problem will go away as the system will relearn to the clean intake.

06 equinox eng cut out when warm does not crank over untill cool

Start with the fuel pump. When you get into your car turn the ignition key to the on position but do not start your car.Listen for the fuel
Pump to engage, you will hear a low whine. If you hear the pump engage, that doesn't rule that the fuel pump is fine.It sounds like the pump though.

I have a 1999 e320 that runs fine when its cool but when it has been driven for about an hour and warm up real good it cuts off and wont start again until it cool off....... Can someone please help me

Sounds like the same problem I had about 2 years ago in my 00 e320 cdi. The car was cutting out after about 10 mins in traffic and would only start again when cooled down. I couldnt tell you what sensor it was but it was only a simple sensor and I would be a 100% that it was the same problem.

Vitara 1.6 cuts out

Are you quite sure it is not overheating? Your mention of heavy traffic, ie. stop and go, would tell me that your radiator fans are not working. I had a car with bum electric radiator fans. It worked fine if it was moving a lot. But in slow traffic, it would get warm enough to have a vapor lock or something without setting the engine-hot light.
