Test the tps using procedure below.

Throttle Position Sensor (TPS)
The Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) is connected to the throttle shaft on the throttle body. It is a potentiometer with one end connected to 5 volts from the VCM and the other to ground. A third wire is connected to the VCM to measure the voltage from the TPS. As the throttle valve angle is changed (accelerator pedal moved), the output of the TPS also changes. At a closed throttle position, the output of the TPS is low (approximately 0.5 volts). As the throttle valve opens, the output increases so that, at wide-open throttle, the output voltage should be approximately 4.5 volts. By monitoring the output voltage from the TPS, the VCM can determine fuel delivery based on throttle valve angle (driver demand).

TESTING

See Figures 1, 2 and 3

Backprobe with a high impedance voltmeter at TPS ground terminal and 5 volt reference signal terminal.
With the key ON and engine off, the voltmeter reading should be approximately 5.0 volts.
If the voltage is not as specified, either the wiring to the TPS or the VCM may be faulty. Correct any wiring or VCM faults before continuing test.
Backprobe with a high impedance voltmeter at the TP signal terminal and the sensor ground terminal.
With the key ON and engine off and the throttle closed, the TPS voltage should be approximately 0.5-1.2 volts.
Verify that the TPS voltage increases or decreases smoothly as the throttle is opened or closed. Make sure to open and close the throttle very slowly in order to detect any abnormalities in the TPS voltage reading.
If the sensor voltage is not as specified, replace the sensor.

Fig. Fig. 4: Common Throttle Position Sensor (TPS)
Disconnect the negative battery cable and remove the air cleaner and if equipped, the gasket and bracket.
Disengage the electrical connector.
Unfasten the two TPS attaching screw assemblies.
Remove the TPS from the throttle body assembly.
Remove the TPS seal.

To install:
Install the TPS seal over the throttle shaft.
With the throttle valve closed, install the TPS on the throttle shaft.
Rotate it counterclockwise, to align the mounting holes.
Install the two TPS attaching screws.
Tighten the screws to 18 inch lbs. (2 Nm).
Engage the electrical connector.
If equipped, install the bracket and gasket air cleaner and gasket.Connect the negative battery cable.

SOURCE: I have 1995 Camery. I just got a tune up and fuel

sounds like its not holding fuel pressure , I would check the fuel filter connections and that it was put on the correct way around, I would also look for fuel leaks around the injectors hope this helps.

have you tried checking the map sensor this can sometimes cause the engine to run oddly. also check for good spark check wires when its pitch black out check for wire arching. also check fuel pressure with a pressure guage.make sure cap and rotor are clean of deposits. keep searching and you will find the weak link.

SOURCE: how do you replace the fuel filter on a 99 beetle

If it was serviced by the dealer I'm 100% it was replaced. Your problem might be related to something else than the fuel filter itself. It would be a good idea if you have it scanned for fault codes. From there you can figure out what you're up against with. The fuel filter is cheap and located near the bottom right wheel well.

SOURCE: HOW DO I KNOW IF MY IGNITION MODGLE IS BAD? 1992

If , the module was bad, it probably would never run again, (I say probably). Did it run better before the tune up?? If you haven't changed the oil and filter, that would help , and then high mileage (Slick Fifty)would probably do some good . And don't run regular gas, run the next best, and don't run the premium, only run the middle grade.

1995 k2500 chev pu did tune up it started ran for 15 min i turned it off and now will not start. Put new fuel pump rekay fuse in. Still does not start. Cranks but will not start. Any ideas?

If you put fuel directly into the throttle body does it start. Did you change the fuel filter with the new fuel pump. If all of that is ok it sounds like you may have a plugged catalic converter screen. If you remove the o2 sensor ahead of the cat and muffler it should start and run if the cat is plugged. Hope this helps.

check EGR or PVC valve operating correctly. fuel pressure or volume, replace fuel filter, possible air leak into manifold vacuum, check vacuum lines not leaking, incorrect spark advance

How do i know if my fuel pump is bad on my 1995

Well that could be a indication of a bad fuel pump, but it could also be a bad or clogged fuel filter, or even a really needing a tune up... When was the last time you changed the plugs and wires? I would do that before I ever got into the fuel pump issue... You can have the pump pressure tested. Do the plugs and wires, next do the fuel and air filters... If that doesnt help have the pressure tested...

Hi i have a '95 lincoln mark 8, and recently i have had problems starting my car, it tries to start but wont crank over, but i only have this problem some times, the past couple of days i have'nt had any...

two things to check, when was the late time you had a tune-up done ??? next, get a fuel pressure tester. hook up to the fuel rail. key on, engine off, pressure could be at least 35 - 45 PSI. get a hanes manual #59010. it will help you troubleshoot. fuel filter is a good place to start. should replace filter every 2 years.
