Somebody tried to break into your car, and you wont be able to get it to turn over without reprogramming your car key, or simply be persistent, and continue trying to crank it. but for sure you will need it re programmed, beware because it is expensive.

hope this helps. by the way that system is the "Anti-Theft"

SOURCE: car won't start when security light is blinking

Vehicle anti-theft (VAT) system is not getting proper reading from the ignition switch. Your key has a resistor built into the head of the key (a silver bar on a black backing). Shine up this bar with some fine steel wool on both sides of the key. Possibly the wiring in the steering column that leads to the VAT module has gone bad or the connections in the ignition switch that mate up with the key's resistor no longer connect properly. End result: the starter and fuel injection system remain dead when all else seems normal............Security light on dash will stay on/flashing. There will be a 3 minute dead/reset period between each unsuccessful start attempt.

SOURCE: car want start factor security light flashing and

The factory security light will remain on - this is a standard feature indicating the car is dead.
First, unplug the hazard fuze in the engine bay (this will reset the ecu and remove the flashing)

Next, replace the battery with a new one (or one with proper charge) - keep in mind a small battery will not do anything for these cars, the engines require a lot to push them over (it isnt a honda)
*Make sure to clean the positive and negative battery cables from acid

Then just start it up :)

SOURCE: theft light blinking/car won!t start

If you have key numbers on the door, you should enter the code, then immediately start the truck. If this does not work contact the dealer for a sequence to reset the alarm.

Does your key have a chip on it? If it does its probably the problem

SOURCE: 2006 Humer H3, Won't start and electrical resets itself

Check the battery terminals real good.Make sure they are clean and tight.Check and see if any of the side terminals are leaking. As far as the blower motor. It is more than likely that the blower motor resistor is bad.It is located by the blower motor.Hope this helps.Good luck.

The car won't start it tries to turn over but thats it it's getting spark and sounds like the fuel pump is kicking in but thats all its doing

I purchased a used 2002 pontiac grand am with only one key (dealer key), so I went and had a couple of keys made without magnetic chip,my bad. the car was running great until I tested the new keys that I had made, not knowing this set off the security lock out. the next day I went out to start the car and would act like it was trying to turnover but I was was doing was running the battery down, after several hours of troubleshooting (thinking fuel pump issue) I had come to learn the when you see the security light blinking on the dash it ain't going to start. How to fix, using a magnetic strip key turn to the on position, remember this model turns lights on also, leave the key in on position for 10 minutes this will reset the alarm, turn the key to the off position, now try to start your car. Key point here is if you see the security icon blinking on your dash the car has power everywhere but will not start, there may be several things that trip the security, I am just learning of one

Trouble starting and blinking dash

I had exactly the same problem this morning after returning from the store. I replaced the OEM battery with an Optima Red Top Model 25. Problem gone. Chrysler OEM batteries rarely last more than three years. You don't need to buy an Optima, but they do last a long time.

Good luck....

i had the same problem on my 98 sonoma. for some reason your passlock system did not recognise your key and went into security. you have to take it to a dealer or a shop with a computer and have them reset your passlock. if you have a buddy or know someone with a scan tool they may be able to do it to. i think the shop here charged $35. but there is no other way to fix it.
