2004 PT Cruiser overheating with air con running.I turn off air and turn on heat.This lowers temp gauge to normal setting. New working parts, fans, high low, thermometer, rad cap, hi lo sensors, purged system. Temp only runs normal with heat on. HELP

did you check the fluid level by removing the rad. cap? Radiator should be full to top. If Chryslers are low on coolant, the heater will not blow warm air.

You may sneak it out with small fingers with out pulling out the starter.
If starter removal is required,Just unhook the battery cables,Remove the 2 bolts holding the starter on.

Did you replace temperature sensor on water cooling system?

Sounds like the engine head gasket needs to be replaced.The gasket has deteriated from the engine cylinder and coolant passage and overheating the coolant. Sometimes you will see coolant mixed with engine oil, or milky solution on the oil dipstick

Hi astrochop, did you replace the thermostat? You might want to try parking uphill, removing the radiator cap, and topping off the radiator with the engine running. This will help to burp any air in the system.
yes, new thermostat, cleaned all rad coils of dirt.
