SOURCE: 2002 Jaguar XJ8 VDP....installed new battery (more

It is posible that the extra boost has blown the ignition fuse. Look under the dash on the left or right hand drivers side and find the fuse box. On the outer cover should be a diagram of the fuses installed. Look for ignition. If you don't have a daigrm then start pulling fuses one at a time and checking the wire in the fuse to see if it has seperated, (Melted), and replace it. There may be more then one fuse that burnt so check them all and replace them back in the same spot. This is why i say one at a time. Some vehicles have an ignition fuse under the hood as well. If you can't find the fuse in the car then look out under the hood. Some of these fuses under the hood will be larger but should have a window to look in and check for damage. Let me say this first before you go fuse hunting. When trying to start does it turn over good and fast. If it is a sluggish turn over then recheck the battery termanals to be sure they are tight and cleaned of all corrosion. You should not be able to twist the cable end with your hand. Let me know how it turns out. I hope I have been of some help, Good Luck, The Raz

SOURCE: can I tow a 2005 jaguar vdp on car dolly?

it is a common misconception that you cannot tow an automatic car,you can, if you take precautions..car in nuetral, top speed 35mph,max distance 25 miles.this assumes that the gearbox itself is NOT damaged. Some people will tell you to drop the propshaft, some makers demand you do this, BUT thats because, like everything else in this world, one must take into account the IDIOTS out there.if the rear wheels rotate, tow the car.....(i expect a lot of techies to argue but in 40+years ive had NO trouble).

SOURCE: What type of brake fluid can I add to a 2005 jaguar xj8 VDP? Can I use Valvoline Synthetic DOT 3&4?

For normal use, a 3 is adequate. The 4 will handle higher temperatures. If you're racing the Jag, I'd recommend the 4.

2005 jaguar VDP 4.0L. Very hard start. Have replaced map and crank sensor, egr valve and intake.

in what way is it hard to start does the engine turn over fast or slow, fast is low compression in the piston chambers slow can be the battery or the starter motor wearing out. ( starter motor has bushes to turn the motor these wear out and cannot turn the engine over fast enough to start.

Hi, I have a 2005 Jaguar VDP 4.2L. Very hard start. Have changed upper intake, Mass Air Sensor, Crank sensor, Fuel filter, some coils 3 & 5. Fuel pump is working. 180k miles

chek fuel pressure test then do a compression test on all cylinders should be at least 150- 175 psi the early engines suffered from prematually worn out nicosil coated cylinder bores but your engine is poss way after that but 1st thing comes to mind is low compression, good luck

2005 jaguar xj8 VDP parkbrake fault yellow light on, how do I resolve?

the most likeley cause is the rear pads siezed in the caliper frames, when you apply the electronic park brake it detects incorrect travel and disables the park brake.check that first.the park brake motor is also suspect. you should really get the fault codes out of the parkbrake module to help diagnose yhis issue.

Ask a parts auto place or jaguar dealer parts or service dept as they will also have what you need.

2007 Jaguar VDP

Hey John,

This is very common, because your battery is dead your remote isnt going to work. So what you have to do is look by the license plate light bulbs, their is a key hole wear you can insert you key and open the trunk to charge/ or jump start your battery
