SOURCE: How to replace serpentine belts 99' Hyundai Elantra.

you might need to get a prybar or something such long, and try to pry it off the belt, it should go easy right away. It is a spring-inside assembly, and won't brake. There also could be a 3/4 hole in it, look from a side. It's for middle size ratched, it can be used to loosen the tensioner from serp. belt.

I have a 2003 Hyundai Elantra. Its Engine is 2.o L (120.5) DOHC MFI 16-valve4 -cyl inline engine. It has 90,000 miles on it. When I bought it, it had 89,000 miles. Should I change the timing belt for this...

Most manufactures recommend changing the Timing belt at around 60,000 miles or 7 years. The have been known to last a lot longer than that but it is cheaper to have it replaced than to risk critical and expensive engine damage if it breaks.

Whats a difference between timing belt and drive belt , for my 2004 Elantra Hyundai cernter is asking to change the drive belt and flush the Hyd oil, car has 53,000 miles on it

a drive belt refers to belt driven items like alternator, power steering, water pumps and the like.

A timing belt is cogged to precicely hold the relationship between the crankshaft and the valve train. Timing belts are usually located within covers, as the loss or damage to this belt exposes engine damage and failure.

Could someone please advise of the correct method of fitting a new timing belt to a 2004 Hyundai Elantra XD GL.

If you are not very mechanically inclined, timing belt removal and replacement is best left to a professional because misplacement of the crank and cam gear positions can cause the engine to run poorly or even cause damage upon starting the engine.

Im replacing timing belt, accessory belts and water pump on my hyundai elantra gls 1997 sta wgn auto transmission. (1)Where is bolt to drain engine block coolant?(2)After removing front engine mountin

(1) No need to know if engine block coolant drain plug was available. Once the water pump was removed, all engine block coolant was drained. (2) After removing the three engine mounting bracket bolts, I also removed the mount bracket from the the body and made enough room to replace the timing belt easier.

Timing Belt for 05 Hyundai Elantra

unless your well clued up with engines i wouldn't try changing timing belt yourself get somebody experienced to do this because if you don't time engine up properly you could cause serious damage by bending valves.
