Sometimes gauges like that will become overheated time after time and cause a spot to be "cold saudered" where the connections on the circuit board go bad. If there is a discolored spot on the back of the speedometer try re-soldering the area that is discolored.

Sounds like the transmission fluid is getting too viscus. Might want to check it, or replace it. I would just get the trans fluid replaced. Costs 80 dollars or can dIY for 25-30$

It sounds like your input clutch seals are rolling. Is the check engine light on. It could also be the pressure control solenoid could be causing the problem aswell
