Follow the air duct from the air filter towards the engine. It will have wires coming from it. It will look similar to this.

SOURCE: how to test cam sensor 95 audi a6 2.8

Hi David, Remove the sensor and hook up an analogue voltmeter to the two cables. Set the meter at mili voltage and pass a metal screw driver across the business end of the sensor, without coming into contact with it. You should have a distance of about 0.5 of a millimeter gap between the sensor and the screw driver. The voltage generated is very small and the pulse will only occur as the field is broken. In other words its a two man job. If the needle of the meter moves the sensor is fine, if not replace it. It is very important to use an analogue meter as the pulse is too small to be noticed on most digital meters. Regards John

I need to find the fuse location for the headlamps on a 1999 Audi 2.8 A4 Quattro? Can you help?

The fuses location for the headlamps on a 1999 Audi 2.8 A4 Quattro are:
F18 (10 A) - RH headlamp - high beam
F19 (10 A) - LH headlamp - high beam
F20 (10 A \ 15A) - RH headlamp - low beam, headlamp adjustment
F21 (10 A \ 15A) - LH headlamp - low beam, headlamp adjustment

For Audi A4 the fuse box is located on the left side of dashboard behind a plastic cover (for left hand steering wheel vehicle). On inner face of the plastic cover you will find the fuse diagram.

We have a 90 Quattro V8. Last summer I changed

Your V8 Audi has two necessary sensors that malfunction due to their placement in extreme heat on the lower left side of the engine just inside of the header/down pipe connection. They read the flywheel position for the engines computer ECU. The reference sensor is always suspect, but the speed sensor may need to be changed, as well. The wire connectors to the sensors that sit above the FL suspension can be tested, or just replace both sensors to get some quality time with your V8.

Location of fuel filter on a 2001 audi tt quattro

On a 2001 Audi TT Quattro the fuel filter is located forward of the fuel tank, in the right rear wheel well area. The fuel line clamps are a bit tricky. The change will improve performance. The owners manual does not even list changing the filter. But do it! use a Fram, and it fit perfectly. Good luck.

Audi a8 temp,high

Temp sensor is at the right hand rear of the engine (left side when looking from the front). You can get to it from above without too much issue.
They regularly fail and are a cheap replacement part. They don't throw diagnostic codes. Go genuine, or Bosch.

To replace, you pull the retaining clip out to the rear (be careful, they get dropped easily). The sensor itself pulls out, but will probably be stuck in slightly, so don't damage the cars plug pulling it out (disconnect plug first).
Make sure the o-ring comes out too, or go fishing for it (they can be brittle and break with age). New sensor will come with a new o-ring.
