They are an interference engine, but you may have dodged a bullet. Once new belt is on, you may want to check, before going too much further.

SOURCE: 1994 1.9 the timing belt broke.did it bend the valves.

For what it's worth, my info tells me it's a non-interference engine, so your o.k. but I will double check that & get back to you.

SOURCE: if the timing belt breaks does this shear or bend the valves on a

All Daewoo Engines are interference fit Engines. Which means that if the timing belt rips while the engine is running the pistons will hit and bend the valves and you will have to get new valves and possibly a new cylinder head. Worst case scenario you will also have to get a new engine block if for some reason chunks or pieces of valve, piston or cylinder head damaged the cylinder bore and cracked the block while things were moving around. Daewoo Timing belts are recommended to be replaced at 60,000 miles but it is best to replace them before 60k as some people have had their timing belts break on them as soon as 61,000 miles.

Does the dATSUN H 20 engine bend valves if the chain breaks, it was found in the forklifts of the 1980's

I'm not positive but I don't think any engine with a timing chain rather than a timing belt will bend valves if the chain breaks.

Does a broken timing belt automatically mean bent vales?

No you don't always bend valves typically with 4 or 6 cylinder engines are equiped with free floating engines that when the chains or belts break it allows the engine from creating greater damage to other parts of your engine

I just wanted to know if this model has a timing belt or timing chain.

Timing belt on this vehicle. Replace at 120K miles. You may bend a valve if the belt breaks on you. Very expensive then.

How can i tell if a timing chain broke on a 2006 dodge stratus 4 cyl

Hi!

If you have a 4 Cylinders, Then you have a timing belt not a chain. And when the timing belt breaks the car will not run at all and if it was running, Then the car will stall and the engine will be damaged due to the pistons hitting the valves and bend them. So you may want to check it and maybe change it if the car is around 60.000 miles before its too late. Good luck

The timing chain broke can that also bend or break a valve? If it can how much will it cost to fix?5

It's more apt to be a belt and yes it can bend/break valves and do alot of other damage also. It will need to be disassembled to access what exactly is needed. As far as e$timate - expensive

Timing Chain 2003 Subaru Outback LL Bean Edition

I would definently Replace the timeing chain before it breaks. because if it does break when its running it will cause catasrophic failure. such as bending valves and possibly breaking a piston. every so many miles your chain should be replaced as with the belts. it is a safty precaution. A little money spent now will save you a lot later.
