SOURCE: check engine lite is on,

Your CODE P1276 refer to the Acelerator Pedal Position, Sensor 1 Circuit Range Performance.

Probable cause: Wiring, APP or ECM

GM - P1271 Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor 1-2 Correlation

I also found this... though its for Trailblazers... but may give you a clue:
Reduced Engine Power Message and/or Check Engine Light with any Combination of the following DTCs: P0107 P0112 P0122 P0452 P1120 P1220 P1221 P1271 P1275 P1280 P1481 P1515 P1540 P1633 P1635 P1639 P1682 #PIP3192 - (Oct 18, 2004)

Reduced Engine Power Message and/or Check Engine Light with any Combination of the Following DTCs: P0107 P0112 P0122 P0452 P1120 P1220 P1221 P1271 P1275 P1280 P1481 P1515 P1540 P1633 P1635 P1639 P1682 PCM Repeat.

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom described in the PI.

Condition/Concern:
Reduced engine power message and/or check engine light with any combination of the following DTCs: P0107 P0112 P0122 P0452 P1120 P1220 P1221 P1271 P1275 P1280 P1481 P1515 P1540 P1633 P1635 P1639 P1682

Recommendation/Instructions:
If the SI diagnostics did not isolate a concern, the following information may be helpful:
- Inspect the main engine wiring harness between the PCM and the generator assembly for a potential short to ground. There is a metal wiring harness retainer in this area that secures the main engine harness. If the harness conduit is mispositioned, some of the wiring may become exposed and chaff on the harness retainer. This may eventually cause the exposed circuit to short to ground.

- Inspect the 3 harnesses that connect to the PCM for potential shorts to ground on the metal PCM mounting bracket, just below the PCM. There are plastic harness retainers on the PCM bracket that secure the harnesses to the PCM bracket. If the harness conduit is mispositioned, some of the wiring may become exposed and chaff on the PCM bracket. This may eventually cause the exposed circuit to short to ground.

- If a chaffed circuit is found in either of the above locations, repair the circuit using the necessary SI procedures. Once the circuit is repaired, tape the area of the affected area of the harness to prevent the wires from becoming exposed in the future and secure the harness using the original harness retainer.

This applies to 04:
- 4.2L 5.3L LL8 LM4 Engine with DTC - P2120 or P2122 or P2123 or P2125 or P2127 or P2128 - kw low MIL pedal power reduced #PI01746 - (Feb 17, 2004)
- 4.2L 5.3L LL8 LM4 Engine with DTC - P2120 or P2122 or P2123 or P2125 or P2127 or P2128.

When servicing the vehicle with the VIN you entered, the following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the described symptoms.

Condition/Concern:
MIL light on. Reduced Power message on DIC. Possibles DTCs P2120 and/or P2122, P2123, P2127, and P2128.

Recommendation/Instructions:
The APP harness is clipped to the accelerator pedal bracket. The harness may chaff on the upper portion of the accelerator pedal causing a short to ground. Verify the harness is not chaffing on the accelerator pedal. After repairing the short, reposition the harness to ensure no contact between the harness and the accelerator pedal.

Hope helpes.

DTC P0506

CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION

The throttle actuator control (TAC) motor is controlled by the engine control module (ECM). The DC motor located in the throttle body drives the throttle plate. In order to decrease idle speed, the ECM commands the throttle closed reducing air flow into the engine and the idle speed decreases. In order to increase idle speed, the ECM commands the throttle plate open allowing more air to pass the throttle plate. If the actual idle RPM does not match the desired idle RPM within a calibrated time, this DTC sets.

DTC DESCRIPTOR
This diagnostic procedure supports the following DTC:
DTC P0506 Idle Speed Low

CONDITIONS FOR RUNNING THE DTC
- DTCs P0068, P0101, P0102, P0103, P0106, P0107, P0108, P0112, P0113, P0117, P0118, P0120, P0122, P0123, P0171, P0172, P0201, P0202, P0203, P0204, P0205, P0206, P0207, P0208, P0220, P0121, P0222, P0223, P0230, P0300, P0336, P0442, P0446, P0449, P0452, P0453, P0455, P0462, P0463, P0496, P1516, P2101, P2135, P2176 are not set.
- The engine is operating for at least 60 seconds.
- The engine coolant temperature (ECT) is more than -60°C (-140°F).
- The intake air temperature (IAT) is more than -10°C (-14°F).
- The barometric pressure (BARO) is more than 65 kPa.
- The system voltage is between 9-18 volts.
- The vehicle speed is less than 1.6 km/h (1 mph).
- DTC P0506 runs continuously when the above conditions are met.

CONDITIONS FOR SETTING THE DTC
- The actual idle speed is approximately 100 RPM lower than the desired idle speed.
- The above condition is present for 5 seconds.

ACTION TAKEN WHEN THE DTC SETS
- The control module illuminates the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) on the second consecutive ignition cycle that the diagnostic runs and fails.
- The control module records the operating conditions at the time the diagnostic fails. The first time the diagnostic fails, the control module stores this information in the Failure Records. If the diagnostic reports a failure on the second consecutive ignition cycle, the control module records the operating conditions at the time of the failure. The control module writes the operating conditions to the Freeze Frame and updates the Failure Records.

CONDITIONS FOR CLEARING THE MIL/DTC
- The control module turns OFF the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) after 3 consecutive ignition cycles that the diagnostic runs and does not fail.
- A current DTC, Last Test Failed, clears when the diagnostic runs and passes.
- A history DTC clears after 40 consecutive warm-up cycles, if no failures are reported by this or any other emission related diagnostic.
- Clear the MIL and the DTC with a scan tool.

SOURCE: error code p1271 on trailblazer

That trouble code is faulting the accelerator pedal sensor. The APP sensors are located in a TAC module mounted to the accelerator pedal bracket. There are three individual APP sensors within the TAC module. Three separate signal circuits, low reference circuits, and 5v reference circuits are used to determine the accelerator pedal position. The APP sensor signal voltages increase when the accelerator pedal is depressed.

When I push my gas pedal down about one inch the reduced power light comes on it don't stall just reduced power you shut the truck off restart it the light is off ,

The reduced power light is pertaining to the TAC - electronic throttle control . Is the check engine light lit ? If not still may have a DTC -diagnostic trouble code stored . You probably have a bad TPS - throttle position sensor .
Throttle Body Assembly
The throttle body for the throttle actuator control (TAC) system is similar to a conventional throttle body with several exceptions. One exception being the use of a motor to control the throttle position instead of a mechanical cable. Another exception is the throttle position (TP) sensor. The TP sensor is mounted in the throttle body assembly. The TP sensor is 2 individual TP sensors within the throttle body assembly. Two separate signal, low reference, and 5-volt reference circuits are used to connect the TP sensors and the powertrain control module (PCM). TP sensor 2 signal voltage increases as the throttle opens. TP sensor 1 signal voltage decreases as the throttle opens.

2003 Chevy Trailblazer engine power lose light come on

Hi Steve , your vehicle has electronic throttle control . I don't know if you are aware of this. The gas pedal have position sensors an a wiring connector with 4-6 wires .these wires are connected to the engine computer . an there is a electric motor on the throttle body assembly , the computer opens an closes the throttle . You probably have codes stored in the engine computer .
Reduced Engine Power Mode When the PCM detects a condition with the TAC system the PCM may enter a reduced engine power mode. Reduced engine power may cause one or more of the following conditions:
?€¢
Acceleration limiting--The control module will continue to use the accelerator pedal for throttle control; however, the vehicle acceleration is limited.

?€¢
Limited throttle mode--The control module will continue to use the accelerator pedal for throttle control; however, the maximum throttle opening is limited.

?€¢
Throttle default mode--The control module will turn off the throttle actuator motor and the throttle will return to the spring loaded default position.

?€¢
Forced idle mode--The control module will perform the following actions:

-
Limit engine speed to idle by positioning throttle position, or by controlling fuel and spark if throttle is turned off.

-
Ignore accelerator pedal input.

?€¢
Engine shutdown mode--The control module will disable fuel and de-energize the throttle actuator.

Reduced engine power light stays on

This is a safety feature that is triggered when the Electronic Throttle controller detects a problem with the gas pedal itself, the throttle body, or related circuitry. It is recommended that you bring your vehicle to a professional who can properly diagnose and repair this type of problem due to the safety issue related to it. My suggestion is the dealership. Reading codes

Check the wiring to the throttle body, check the supply voltages as well. Check fuses too, it sounds like it received a voltage spike and then lost voltage and is now forcing limited rpm.

Where is the throttle located on a 2002 chevy trailblazer?

"Throttle" is the gas pedal. If you're looking for the throttle body, it's towards the drivers side firewall. Has a 3" rubber hose attached to it. Need to take off the plastic box on the very top of the engine to get to it. But is very easy to get to.

Idles fine sounds good but when u have incline or give it alot of gas it goes into reduced power mode and throws up two lights and two codes p1515 and p1516. Once in reduced power mode u cant do anything...

These codes are related to the throttle body and the throttle position sensor. Check to make sure there is no binding at the throttle body. The problem could also be the stepper motor that drives the throttle plate.

2002 Chevy Trailblazer

hi, those sound like throttle actuator codes. the throttle body on your vehicle should be an electronically controlled unit without wires to control actual acceration an deceleration. now, there is also an electronic switch called a potentiometer on the gas pedal that transmits signal to the throttle body to tell it what to do. most of the time, the throttle body is what goes bad here. you should also check the wiring to the unit for bad connection by wiggling the wire connector and seeing if the reduced engine power light comes on. if this happens, you will likely have to replace the wiring pigtail and the throttle body. but, in some cases, the gas pedal switch goes bad, and likely what is not allowing the transmission to shift out of park, the pcm may lock out the solenoid controlling the shifter. but, don't just run with that answer, it maybe completely wrong. i have seen more throttle bodies and wiring harnesses go bad than gas pedal switches in those vehicles. but you might want to have a shop diagnose further, it may even be two unrelated problems, or in the powertrain computer itself.
