Where is the inertial fuel shutoff located on a 1999 Mercury villager van?

probably the fuel pump, or incorrect reading on fuel guage. Could also be fuel filter. either problem involves getting under the van and getting dirty. Fuel pump is about $120 at autozone, Fuel filter around $15. Labor if you do it yourself is about 2 hours for the fuel pump, and hopefully your close to empty because you have to drop the fuel tank to get to the pump. The filter is located between drivers door and left rear tire on the frame rail and takes ten minutes to replace.
you can check for fuel pressure by locating the schroeder valve under the hood. its usually by the intake on the front fuel rail and looks like a valve stem on a tire. just like u would let air from a tire u push the valve in and gas will spray out, so wear dirt clothes and safety glasses.
also listen for the fuel pump to turn on. turn the key forward to the running position but not to the start position. if you can't hear it it does't work. check fuel pump fuse too.

the fuel pump is INSIDE your fuel tank. the tank has to be removed to replace the pump

1. Remove the LH scuff plate.

1. Remove the LH lower A-pillar trim panel.

1. Remove the inertia fuel shutoff (IFS) switch.
   1. Disconnect the electrical connector.
   1. Remove the screws.

It's located inside the fuel tank and is kinda tricky if you haven't done it before, my advise would be to take it to a professional.

There is no such a thing as a "fuel temperature sensor" in your van

the knock sensor is under intake, must remove intake and it is under two coolant lines

Disconnect the electrical connector. Disconnect and remove the fuel temperature sensor from the clip.

The mechanical fuel pump is located on the engine block or on the cylinder head.
