thought I was the only one! I found it by accident... take the key out of ignition, open the back glass with key lift open then close glass back.... this resets the security system.....
my car did this 5 times, I would call for someone to jump me off thiking it was battery.... then when I got cables out it would start I finally realizes I was resetting sec, sytem//

find the little black alarm box remove the harness from it and it is disconnected and no harm to the rest of the car
The voltage regulator and rectifiers are inside the alternator.
Grab a cheap multi-meter (even a $5 one is good enough for this) and check your voltage on the battery when the vehicle is idling. It should be around 14-14.5V. If it's 14.8 or more then your alternator's voltage regulator is not working correctly.
