What is happening is yes the injectors may in fact be clogged or there may be blockage in your fuel rails to. also check your fuel filter on your fuel line because that could be dirty and clogged. also perform a fuel pressure test check . replacing your fuel pump is the last resort.

Check your output pressure from the pump where the fuel filter is and reference that to specs. if thats fine then try running a fuel system cleaner/treatment

94 dodge dakota 2.5l no fuel to throtle body

If you are not getting fuel to the throttle body, there could be a few potential causes. Here are a few things to check:
  1. Fuel Filter: Check to see if the fuel filter is clogged. If it is clogged, it could prevent fuel from getting to the throttle body.
  2. Fuel Pump Relay: Make sure the fuel pump relay is functioning properly. If the relay is not sending power to the fuel pump, it won't run and fuel won't be delivered to the engine.
  3. Fuel Pressure: Check the fuel pressure at the throttle body. If the pressure is low or nonexistent, it could indicate a problem with the fuel pump or a clog in the fuel lines.
  4. Check Valve: The check valve on the fuel pump could be stuck or malfunctioning, causing a lack of fuel flow.
  5. Vent on Tank: A clogged or faulty vent on the fuel tank can cause fuel starvation as the engine tries to suck fuel from the tank but can't due to the lack of air flow.
It's also possible that there could be an issue with the fuel injectors or the throttle body itself, but these are less common causes of a lack of fuel to the engine. It's recommended to have a mechanic diagnose the issue if you are unable to identify the problem yourself.

I put a new rebuild tranny in a 1995 Dakota 4 by4 and now it won't run for crud! Sometimes you can get it to idle for lil bit. But you can't rev it up it anything. Iv replaced the fuel pump ,throttle...

If the car shows these symptoms when in neutral, then it is likely not an issue with the transmission.
Start with checking the basics. You mention it had been sitting for two years. The first thing I'd do is drain the entire fuel system. Fuel usually won't sit for that long without waxing. This is where the make-up of the fuel itself changes over time and causes it to lose it's flammable nature. It will also tend to clog and damage components within the system, including the fuel pump and injectors. You MUST clean the system and refill with fresh pump fuel before attempting any further diagnosis.

Old '87 ranger been sitting in folks yard few years. fires up fine, but spits and sputters going down the road

Old fuel in tank, fuel filter clogged, plugged/clogged carb. or fuel injectors.

1. Drain fuel from tank and replace with new fuel with SeaFoam or Lucas

2. Repace fuel filter

3. With engine running at a high idle and air cleaner off, spray or pour carb/fuel injection cleaner into carb/fuel injectors.

If problems persist, check plug wires for cracks and/or breaks. Pull spark plugs checking for fouling.
