Check the cable that goes from your battery to the fuse box the relay that is clicking is on. Check for lose bolts or corrosion of the contacts or something like that. If the relay is clicking it sounds to me like it is a voltage issue going to the relay.

Need to replace the sensor inside the gas tank. I have a 2008 Malibu with the same problem. It was a faulty fuel gauge sensor.

Is there an inline fuel filter on a 2010 Chevy Malibu 2.4L and if so where is it located?

Sorry I am not sure about 2010 but on CHEVY the ones I have change over the last few years. They were around the gas tank axle area (One was above the vacuum canister near the gas tank.) or under the car on the drivers side attached to the frame between tank and engine compartment.
You might check with a auto parts store and ask for a exact match fuel filter for you car. They may tell you the only one you have is part of the fuel pump.
From my understanding a lot of cars now days just have a fuel filter as part of the fuel pump in the gas tank..
03 I think has been the latest model I have changed a inline filter on. I hope this helps if not sorry for any confusion.

I have a 97 Volvo 850 base model with the 2.4 engine. Engine stalls ONLY in hot weather. I've replaced the MAF 3 times, No OBDII codes are thrown. I replaced the fuel filter. Cleaned all electri

Fuel injection relay. It is located under the hood inside the fuse box. It is either red or green in color. It is one of the larger relays. This is classic symptom of these things going bad. The heat causes the relay to swell and not engage properly. They die out every couple of years. Usually the car will start again after it cools down.

First clean your ejector give a trier if problem persists then change the fuel filter if it is clogged up. If the filter is clogged up then your fuel tank is light lying to be dirty, hence you may bring it down for cleanup. The last thing to do if there others failed then it could be the fuel pump is very weak and need to be replaced.

2005 Chevy Malibu starting problem

sounds like its a gas problem. i would normally say its the pump but if you replaced it already then its not likely. i would look and see if there is anything in the tank clogging the pump. something may have got sucked up in there while you are turning.

Also do not let tank run low because fuel in tank keeps in tank pump cool. This is why the pump is in the tank.
