SOURCE: wheel bearing ford contour

this comes a a hub assembly
you need to remove the brakes and brake rotor
the center nut holding in your CV shaft
in the hub you will find holes that you can put your socket threw to remove the mounting bolts.

SOURCE: packing front wheel bearings

what I do is put a glob of grease in the palm of my hand and push bearing down in to grease untill you see the grease come out of the bearing or you can go to your local parts store and get a bearing grease packer. also wipe spindal with a genorus glob and put grease in between bearing in rotor. To get to the bearings all you need to do is remove tire, center cap (outter grease seal) the silver cap in the center. the cotter pin, Nut, washer outter bearing then the rotor will slip off inner bearing is in rotor still being held in by inner grease seal take seal off replace with new one pack your bearings and reverse removal procedure when retightening nut do not make tight just snug the go another turn if you go to tight you will burn your bearings real fast.

SOURCE: Want to replace fron in 93 ford probe

1993 is a split year, if you have charging ports are a little bigger than the size of a tire valve stem then u have R12, if they are big then you have R134, most all Ford in 93 use R12. In the picture are adapters for a retrofit to R134, these screw on an R12 port, note the large cap R134 cap on the end of the adapter.

Ive replaced the cv shaft but the noise is still their...any ideas?

Have you checked the front wheel bearings? I've seen similar problems on several front wheel drive cars. On my first experience, we also started by changing the CV joints only to find it did not solve the problem. We then though it was a transmission problem.... wrong again. Finally checked the front wheel bearings (Both sides) and found the passenger side was making the noise. Bearing replaced (not cheap by the way) but solved the problem.

Generic problem for all Ford Escape Cars Front wheel bearings are noisy, need to change? how to?

Front wheel drive should be done by a shop. Rear wheel drive just a matter of removing the front wheel dust cover and remove the spindle hub. It is self explanatory thereafter.
